How to use the MEDIAN function on Google Sheets

How to use the MEDIAN function on Google Sheets
Syntax of the function: MEDIAN (number 1; number 2; number 3; ...) .
Inside:
- MEDIAN: is the name of the median finder.
- number 1; number 2; number 3; ...: The values in the sequence.
A few things to note when using the MEDIAN function:
- In the process of finding the median, all values are zeros, the logic and the text are automatically removed by the function and only the numerical values are calculated.
- If you enter an even number of sequences, this function will find the median by calculating the average of the two numbers in the sequence.
1. Find the median using MEDIAN in a sequence
Step 1: First go to Google Sheet and click on any cell.
Step 2: Enter the syntax of this function.
For example: = MEDIAN (1; 2; 9; 8; 5).
Step 3: Press the Enter button . The following will be the median value found for the sequence above.
2. Find the median within a range of value cells on Google Sheet
Step 1: In Google Sheets, open the worksheet in which you want to find the median.
Step 2: Click on any empty cell, then enter the following formula: = MEIDA (Range of cells) .
For example: = MEDIAN (D4: D9).
Step 3: Press the Enter button . Below is the median number found in the spreadsheet.
