Katie Schorr said that although she experienced nagging morning sickness during her first trimester, the hardships did not discourage her when she decided to have a second baby.
Like many other mothers, it seemed unharmed to Katie to wake up several times at night because she was sad. But the severe morning sickness during pregnancy left her with no strength.
After waking up several times a night, at 8 a.m., I could do nothing but nausea, she said.
Try all kinds of remedies for severe morning sickness during pregnancy
After that, I dragged down the kitchen, face winced and staggered like a damaged doll. I took a bowl of mixed cereal yogurt and ate it slowly to forget the discomfort. Then I sniffed some of the peppermint oil my mother-in-law gave me. The nausea went away for a few seconds.
Next, I tried to put sweet and sour candy in my mouth even though I didn't like it at all. My sister assumed that just sucking on candy the morning sickness would go away. Yet 20 minutes later I was nauseous.
I sprayed on the magnesium pill my mother sent me hoping to feel better. I shower with eucalyptus scent bath oil that also contains magnesium. And then I feel all three states: relaxing - hot - uncomfortable at the same time.
Sometimes I try carrots; chicken broth; peanut butter; toasted bread; mashed potato; turnips but they do not penetrate.
Every morning I am helpless with vomiting, the only effective cure is to wait for this trimester to pass. "
"I thought I would get morning sickness all my life"
Katie shared about the days struggling with morning sickness: “At that time I was not interested in anything but finding answers, relief from Google. The following phrases have been searched the most by me:
"Signs of morning sickness at 8 weeks?"
"Is 9 weeks morning sickness normal?"
"Why is morning sickness still over 10 weeks?"
"Is morning sickness lifelong?"
"[Name of any actress with a child] suffers from morning sickness"
It sounds sorrowful, but it really is. During the obscure two months, I just wanted to read true stories about women who went through a healthy, morning sickness episode telling how they got through it.
I have been like this before. I had morning sickness every morning when I was pregnant with my first child, sometimes she came to me before bed.
Experience is important to pregnant mothers
In her desperation, she thought she would ever be like this forever. But by the time her pregnancy hit the 13-week mark, morning sickness suddenly disappeared in peace and she returned to being a woman full of life. She continued her life in moderation, exercising and smiling more than before.
“I stopped taking half the nightly anti-nausea medication because it gave me headaches and dry mouth and still vomited as usual, even though it kept my body from becoming dehydrated. When this nightmare ended, I almost forgot the unpleasant feeling. Similar to when passing or organizing to give up a crib for children, how tired is still happy inside.
Reflecting on that difficult time, Katie realizes that morning sickness is really an important experience for pregnant mothers, helping them to become stronger and feel how much they love their children. In particular, you - pregnant mothers - are not alone, because you can empathize with each other in this matter.
Cherish life more after a nagging morning session
Before we get pregnant, Katie argues, we often don't care about the little things in life. For example, being able to walk freely like a normal person, smile at things and take a deep breath.
After all, you can breathe a sigh of relief, love life more, feel happy to eat your favorite food in a delicious way. If you win against it, you will not be afraid of it.
And then you will feel the pain from severe morning sickness during pregnancy, to severe birth pain completely worth it in exchange for a baby.
Currently, Katie Schorr is a "pen" specializing in writing about the strange experiences, motherhood life to inspire and comfort pregnant mothers. She currently lives happily in Brooklyn with her husband and son.
