A good example might be if your child is in college , and is preparing to review for exams. If a classmate tells your child to drop out of school and hang out with them, he or she will likely fail the test. However, if you teach your child to say no, and make your child understand his / her academic responsibilities, however, it is likely that he will focus and prioritize his or her studies, and will refuse to say "no" to my friends.

It is one of those situations where your child will later thank you for teaching them to say "no", when to say no, your child will secretly thank you for not spoiling them.
