What do other scientists say about children?

Watching the children enjoy playing in nature is extremely interesting to me. Because one of the things I noticed was how observant the kids were. And I know that to me, as an adult, we usually sort of walk around with our eyes basically closed. We are only looking for what we expect / anticipate. And they see things like a bird on a branch, something I never noticed. They have an inspirational ability to observe and imagine.

Young children have their own judgments and assumptions about what should happen in this world and they try to confirm that. That is also the reason that if we have a child placed in a high dining chair in a restaurant they can drop the spoon on the side of the chair and the spoon hits the floor making a loud noise. Parents may pick up a spoon and leave it in the dining chair and say "don't drop the spoon anymore". And the next thing the kid will do is pick up the spoon and drop it again to see if it makes any more noise.

The kids are always busy trying to understand the workings of this new world. That is why children often repeat all naughty acts.

We should respect children's self-esteem

But what we, as adults, take for granted is what we really learned when we were kids. And we learn them from experiments that we now call play. So, do not rush to yell or forbid children when they are trying to do something and repeat acts that are considered naughty . A child's concentration and attention are sometimes even greater than that of an adult.

Children are geniuses, and we need to respect their self-esteem!
