Does the computer lack drivers? Or which drivers are missing? Are they important or not? That is the question of many people who are using computers and have not found a satisfactory answer. That is because we do not know Windows Device Manager - an extremely important tool for identifying and listing hardware on the machine.
Find and install the missing driver for your computer
When there is an error identifying the connected external device or the driver loading fails, we will need to do that manually. Proceed as follows:
Step 1: First, open the Control Panel dialog box by clicking on the Windows icon in the bottom left corner of the screen, then select Control Panel.
All Control Panel Items interface appears, select the Device Manager.
Step 2: When connecting another device to the computer, or having an unrecognized device, it will be displayed as an icon with a yellow exclamation mark (figure below). To help the computer recognize this device, right- click on the device name and select Properties.
Step 3: PCI Device Properties appears , select the Details tab , in the Property section , click the down arrow and select the item named Hardware Ids . Immediately, a list of characters that the computer has not yet recognized will appear. Please copy & paste them to check.
Paste it into search engines on web browsers like Chrome or Coc Coc to check the information.
In fact, there are some basic drivers inside each computer, but it may be because during using or reinstalling Windows, this feature fails, making the computer not recognized and installed. Compatible drivers, to fix this error, we do the following:
Step 1: Still in the interface of All Control Panel Items, scroll down and find Devices and Printers.
Step 2: In Devices, right-click on the interface of Computer / Device installation settings.
Step 3: When the Device installation settings window appears, it will give you two options, namely:
- Yes, do this automatically (recommended): re-enable this feature.
- No, let me choose what to do: choose to install important drivers yourself.
After selecting, click Save Changes to save.
Step 4: Go back to the Device Manager window, find, then right-click on the unrecognized device (yellow exclamation mark) and select Update Driver Software ...
How do you want to search for driver software - Which way do you want to search? At this time, you choose the first item, Searc automatically ... to let the computer find and automatically download, install the missing part.
