WHAT IS CAVIAR MANICURE

The Caviar Manicure is a special nail art technique that employs the use of micro beads that determine a three-dimensional decoration .

It owes its name to the similarity of the microbeads with the classic sturgeon eggs , caviar , the main element of haute cuisine canapes. It is no coincidence that it is also called " caviar nail art ".

The beads are applied on the nail in order to create a rough but multi-faceted and dimensional surface , with a  3D relief effect .

Elegant and refined even if not exactly comfortable to wear, Caviar Manicure remains one of the most sought after and loved treatments for its originality. Ideal for those who love to amaze by showing unconventional hands , but also used on a single nail for a sophisticated and particular accent manicure .

HOW CAVIAR MANICURE IS BORN

The Caviar Manicure born a few years ago (do not know a specific date), thanks to an idea of the creative director ciate London , Charlotte Knight who wanted a manicure and original never seen before.

He decided to use precisely the colored micro-pearls , until then used in scrapbooking , to give volume and dimension to the surface of his nails.

The final effect was amazing: she herself developed the first Ciaté Caviar Kit Manicure in order to make this treatment usable by all.

To date, Caviar Manicure , thanks to the launch of Ciaté, has become famous and considered one of the most glamorous even by celebrities.

Easy to make, it represents an excellent compromise for those who love original manicure , but do not have the manual skills necessary to create challenging designs and decorations .

WHAT YOU NEED TO MAKE THE CAVIAR MANICURE

 

The materials necessary for the creation of a perfect Caviar Manicure are few and easily available.

To begin with, we need to get:

one or more packs of colored micro-pearls (available in shops that supply beauticians and hairdressers or hobbies);

transparent base and top coat ;

colored enamel if possible in tone with the micro pearls;

a fan brush that we will use to remove the excess pearls.

There are also caviar manicure kits complete with everything you need. The most famous are certainly those of Ciatè London  which contain colored enamel, pearls and a mini funnel to insert the advanced beads in the package. In perfumery, for example at Sephora , there are also Pupa sets , they are called Nail art mania Bubbles kit.

HOW THE CAVIAR MANICURE IS MADE

 

The realization of the Caviar Manicure is really very simple and affordable for everyone.

No particular manual or technical skill is required , just a little imagination and creativity is enough by following these steps:

you start by applying a protective transparent base on the nails that avoids any stains caused by the enamel;

once the base is dry, apply the colored enamel of your choice, matching the micro-pearls ;

a second coat of colored nail polish is applied and before it is dry, immerse each nail in a small jar where we have inserted the micro-pearls so that they adhere to the surface (to make them adhere better, you can press the pearls on the nail);

the nail is then brushed with a fan brush to remove any residual pearls;

a top coat is passed only along the outermost edge of the nail to better fix the beads at the end (this step is optional);

once the micro-pearls have adhered , the manicure must be allowed to dry for at least half an hour to ensure perfect adhesion and prevent them from coming off.

HELPFUL HINTS AND TIPS

In making Caviar Manicure it  is important to apply a generous dose of nail polish (the second coat). In this way, the micro-pearls will stick perfectly and remain stable on the nail surface . In fact, the enamel acts as a glue and keeps the pearls anchored on the nails.

An  alternative solution is to use the top coat as a 'glue' . In practice, after applying the colored nail polish, you need to apply the top coat and before it dries, apply the micro pearls. This method has a great advantage in terms of the durability of the nail art. In fact, if you detach the beads glued on a colored base, you would risk having areas devoid of color. On the other hand, in the event that previously attached beads on a transparent base come off, the color would still remain anchored to the nail. As a result it would be much less noticeable that nail art has lost a small part of it.

In both cases it is essential to wait scrupulously for drying , taking care not to shake your hands or bump your nails for at least half an hour. The timing is consistent but necessary for the manicure to be more durable.

It is advisable to work with micro-pearls using a container that allows us to immerse our fingers. A small jar may be useful. In this way the micro-pearls can be distributed evenly, resulting in an optimal result .

We can then recover the unused pearls, reinserting them in the original package through a micro funnel that is often present in the nail art sets for caviar manicure.

WHO IS GOOD WITH CAVIAR NAIL ART

This type of manicure adapts to any shape of the nails and to any hand, more or less tapered. Elegant, versatile and original, it leaves ample scope for our imagination in the choice of color combinations .

We can use and mix pearls of different colors for a captivating and lively “ confetti effect ” or focus on the single color for a classic result.

The accent manicure is also very interesting, where we will carry out the Caviar technique on a single nail creating a unique and refined detail.

FINAL RESULT AND REMOVAL

 

The Caviar Manicure ensures a three-dimensional final result giving a certain thickness and roughness to the nails. If you don't like this feeling, this type of manicure is definitely not for you!

This is an impact manicure which however does not guarantee a remarkable duration: on the other hand the pearls gradually tend to come off , forcing us to meticulously retouch the empty spaces.

It is therefore suitable for an evening or a special occasion , not so much for everyday use.

As for the removal , proceed as usual using a simple nail polish remover and cotton pads: we should insist a little more but the pearls will come off easily without particular hitches!
