At the end of 2018, Samsung introduced One UI - used on its smartphones , succeeding Samsung Experience which was already very successful before. Let's learn more about this operating system!
1. What is One UI?
One UI is OS mobile custom (user interface) based on Android Samsung designed separately for smartphones Galaxy around.
The first beta of One UI based on Android 9 Pie appeared on December 13, 2018 on the Samsung Galaxy S9 . The latest version is currently One UI 2 based on Android 10 that has just been updated by Samsung (December 2019).
2. Interesting features of One UI
With the desire to bring the experience users have a natural, intuitive and simple as possible. One UI has many interesting features and utilities that are always updated, catching up with user trends .
* The features I introduce below are on the new version One UI 2 (Android 10).
2.1. Full screen gesture navigation
One UI version 2.0 has 3 ways to navigate the phone, including 3-key Android traditional navigation, and Samsung's 2 full-screen gestures: Swipe 3 Home / Back / Recent keys from below the screen or Swipe Home / Multitask from bottom edge, swipe from side to go back.
2.2. Comprehensive dark mode
One UI 2 provides a new dark interface with a more seamless experience, native apps on the device and most popular apps are "blacked" in sync. At the same time, this dark mode also helps devices with OLED screens to save battery life significantly.
2.3. Simple, synchronized experience
Frequently used features and applications will be synchronized on all Galaxy devices, ensuring the quickest and simplest operations.
2.4. New announcement design
Information will always be updated, but with a new notification design, taking up less space, ensuring not to interrupt or distract your work.
2.5. Personalization fast
Changing the interface and background image is supported in many ways, freely expressing your own personality. The wallpaper changes itself every time you unlock your phone.
2.6. Digital utility - Digital Wellbeing
This is a typical application of the Pixel series to help you control the duration and frequency of the application, thereby self-regulating how to use smartphones properly, avoiding wasting time.
The number widget on One UI 2 is slightly customizable, the overview chart is displayed as a horizontal bar instead of a pie chart, and some useful features like App Timer, Focus Mode, Relax, Check control of children, ...
2.7. Many other features
One UI 2 comes with a lot of other features, inherited from Android 10 such as Smart Dark Mode, New Navigation Gestures from both Google and Samsung, New Photography Interface, Hearing Enhancement, ... and special features. especially Privacy & Location help better protect users and ultimately towards user convenience.
3. Which phone series use One UI?
The majority of Samsung Galaxy smartphones manufactured in 2019 and running Android 9 use One UI.
The new One UI 2 version is only updated on some high-end models such as Galaxy Note 10 , Galaxy S10 + and will update in the future to older devices.
