If like me you love damask textures this Nail Art is for you. I decided to use some of Pupa's new Gel Effect enamels to create a degrade damask nail art with cold shades that can be combined with a warm and soft one-color sweater.
I remind you that the Pupa Lasting Color Gel nail polish collection has been enriched with 16 new bright colors that have expanded the wide range of colors of the line. This type of glaze has the characteristic of being much brighter than traditional glazes. The color is super glossed and full , moreover its particular texture gives the nail a three-dimensional effect .
In particular, the colors that I show you are perfect for autumn and winter and please the lovers of pastel colors and those of dark colors . Who said pastels are banned during the cold months? The secret is to choose colors with a cold undertone that match the pale color of our skin, characteristic of the winter period.
PRODUCTS USED TO CREATE NAIL ART
- Pupa Lasting Color Gel nail polishes;
- Kiko n 403 enamel brush;
- sponge.
DIFFICULTY AND TIME OF REALIZATION
Time: 1 hour and a half.
Difficulty: high.
Why is this nail art complex? Making decorations on the nails with enamels , rather than with acrylic colors, requires special attention and is recommended for those who juggle brushes well . Acrylic color is certainly easier to manage, it glides better on the nail, it does not add thickness and any inaccuracies can be corrected before it dries.
Working with glazes implies having a very minimal margin of error because if we make a mistake it becomes difficult to correct or cover the line. So be careful and take your time to make the decoration. I recommend to load the brush with a ball of polish and during the realization of the design gently place the brush on the surface of the nail without applying pressure, otherwise the lines will be too thick and the control of the brush will be not easy.
METHOD
Let's see together how to make Damask Nail Art with a step by step tutorial .
FIRST STEP: Apply the light lilac Vintage Lilac n. To thumb, middle and little finger . 107 and on the other two fingers the darker lilac Artichoke Flower n.106.
SECOND STEP: With the sponge make the basic shade. Just spread the two lilac previously used horizontally on the sponge, i.e. no. 107 and 1o6.
Dump the excess product on a white sheet and then repeatedly and gently dab on the nail, in order to obtain a very delicate and gradual shade.
THIRD STEP: Now comes the difficult part of Nail Art. The first color to use is the darker one. I chose the intense blue Carbon Blue n.112.
The design to be created must be broken down into horizontal bands of equal height in order to obtain a good final shade .
I recommend using dark colors near the cuticles and then lighten by fading towards the tips. This will create the optical effect that will allow you to streamline your hand and make the Nail Art more harmonious.
FOURTH STEP: Repeat the previous step with the other colors, remembering to start with the darkest color and then blend with the lighter colors. For the second horizontal band I used the peacock blue Peacock Feather in 111.
FIFTH STEP: Apply the following colors in this sequence. Dark green Pupa Emerald green n.110.
Then proceed with the Celadon green apple n.109.
Now it's the turn of Icy Crystal in 108 , an icy powder blue.
Our Nail Art is almost finished, now you can proceed in two ways, or do a coat of glossy top coat or, if you do not want to lose the 3D effect of the decoration, you can leave the Nail Art as it is, remember that you have only used enamels and therefore you do not need to seal the Nail Art.
I decided to pass the top coat to get a damask Nail Art with a two-dimensional effect.
