Users who have opted for a fiber optic connection are faced with the choice of which speed to choose.
Fiber optic connection – what speed
As I have already written here, I have been using a fiber optic connection from German fiber optics with a guaranteed download speed of 600,000 kbit/s for around 2 months. According to various test sites on the Internet for measuring the speed, this is always achieved.

fiber optic speed
The choice of this connection was recommended to me by the German fiber optics because all speeds currently have the same basic price of €24.99 per month in the first year, plus €5 depending on the choice of router. You can read about it on the German Fiber Optic website .
Here is my experience with this connection.
I record a lot of reports or feature films from a wide variety of media libraries on the Internet, which I then save on a USB stick.
PS:
I know that I could also watch these films directly on my TV from a media library instead of first having to laboriously download them onto a stick. For me, however, this handling is more practical, and that's why I use it.
Fiber optic connection – what speed
What I noticed with all previous downloads, it didn't matter where I downloaded from, the maximum speed was around 300,000 kbit/s. And this value is then never constant for the complete download, but fluctuates down to around 100,000 kbit/s.
Of course, this is still a much faster download than when I had a normal DSL connection.
The only situation where the speed is close to the possible 600000 kbit/s is when I update the driver for my Nvidia graphics card using the Nvidia GeForce Experience software.
My assumption is that most servers are not yet designed for these very high speeds, or the downloads may be throttled. In any case, the time of day for a download doesn't matter, as I've found.
My conclusion after about 2 months.
I will reduce my tariff from the current 600,000 kbit/s to 400,000 kbit/s after the first year. After all, this also results in savings of around €30 per month. You will see what the future will bring, a change back to more speed is always possible with German fiber optics.
