1. How can I join a team in Microsoft Teams?

In MS Teams groups can be public or private. Anyone in a company or organization using the same domain name can join public groups. For a private group, new members must be added by a group owner. Teams in Teams also allows adding people from outside your team as guests (However this is only possible when your System Administrator has this enabled)

2. In Microsoft Teams, what is a channel?

Channels are small group discussion areas within a group (or the whole group) you can create for your groups. When created, each group has a  generic channel available  for public announcements and content. You can also create separate channels for different topics with different subgroups of members to work more efficiently. You can completely follow the channel's announcements when new articles appear or update the group's resources on the channel.

3. Can I send private messages?

Yes, you can do private messages in MS Teams. In addition to team channels and group chats, you can set up a private chat with any user in your Teams

4. What is the difference between a group channel and a private chat?

A group channel is a shared space for group members to freely access and exchange information, while a private chat is a private conversation you have with the person invited to that conversation.

5. Can I use Teams to make calls?

Microsoft Teams can be used to schedule meetings in a team channel or in a group chat.

7. Can I switch between user accounts from different organizations?

Yes you can. If you are the group owner, you can add your other account as a guest account to the group. If you're a team member, ask the group owner to invite you to the group as a guest. Once you've been added to the group as a guest, you can easily switch between user accounts from different organizations.

8. Can I sync my Outlook calendar to Teams?

Yes, any meetings you've set up in Outlook will show up in Microsoft Teams meeting view, so you can manage all your calendar events in one place.

9. What tasks can I do with my membership in Microsoft Teams?

As a team member, you can do all the basic tasks in Microsoft Teams, such as sending and receiving private or group messages, setting up and joining meetings, and making and receiving calls voice and video, add channels to groups, and work with files in groups.

In addition to all of the above, as a group owner you can:

10. Can I send a message from MS Teams to a Skype for Business user?

Yes, you can absolutely use Teams to chat with someone who is using Skype for Business. However, when chatting with Teams with Skype for Business users, some features will not work, such as Emoji and attachments. In addition, your chat history will not be saved.

11. What is T-Bot in Microsoft Teams?

Microsoft Teams offers a help bot called T-bot to help you with any questions you may have about using Microsoft Teams. Just enter a question or phrase into the chat with T-bot and you will get an instant reply. You can type, for example, “How can I make a call?” and T-bot will reply you with instructions.

12. How do I sign out of groups?

It depends on the device you are using.

In Windows, Mac, and Web, you click Avatar to open the menu , and then select the log out option .

On iPhone, Press menu… More  , select Setting and  Sign Out .

On Android phones, press the menu icon , Select Setting and then select  Logout

13. Can I screen a meeting in Microsoft Teams?

Yes, you can completely record what happens in your online meeting with Microsoft Teams. Proceed as follows.

• To start recording, go to meeting controls, and then select  More Options  …   click Start Recording

Once done, everyone in the meeting is notified that the recording has started.

Meeting notifications are also sent to chat history.

• To stop recording, select the call à and then select  More Option…   press Stop Recording

• The recording will then be processed (it may take a while) and saved to Microsoft Stream and can be played back
• The user will receive an email from Microsoft Stream when the recording is successfully saved. It also shows up in the chat—or in the channel, if you're meeting in a channel.

14. Difference between Owner, Member, and Guest in Teams

• Owner
  In a group the owner manages certain settings for the group such as: adding and removing members, adding guests, changing group settings, and handling administrative tasks. There can be more than one owner in a group.
• Members
  Members are people in a group who are usually in 1 organization (with the same domain name as the owner), can exchange, chat with other members in chats, can create channels ... Can view, upload files to the group, and perform the usual types of collaboration that the group owners have allowed.
• Guests
  Guests are people from outside the company or organization that are invited in by the group owner, such as partners or consultants, department officials, etc. Guests have less rights than group members, but they also have basic rights such as chat, join a meeting, delete the messages you have sent, share files on the channel ....

15. What's the difference between groups and channels?

A team  is a collection of members, content, and tools around different projects and outcomes within an organization.

• Groups can be made private only for invited users.
• Groups can also be created to be public and open and anyone in the organization can join
• A group can contain up to 5000 members.

Channels  are dedicated sections within a team for creating conversations organized by specific topics, projects, regulations – or whatever works for your team!

• Channels can be open to all members of a group to join – this is called a public channel, or channels where only a select group of people perform a private task – this is called a private channel. private (private)
• Channels are most valuable when extended with apps that include tabs, connectors, and bots that add value to team members.
