Create a bookcase to store "abandoned" books
In your Goodreads account, in Currently Reading , select the book you do not intend to continue reading but do not want to delete.
In the detailed view of the selected book, you will not have any default options for removing or moving it. If you touch the drop-down menu below the book cover, where you can toggle the status of the book in the collection, you'll only find 4 options, namely Currently Reading , Read , Want to Read and Add. shelf . What you want here is to create a special bookshelf for storing books you don't want to read anymore, but ignore the Add shelf function from that menu. Of course, you can create bookcases with this function, but you need to tweak a bit when creating it, so move through the bookshelf settings from the start.
To do that, click on My Books in the navigation bar and select Edit next to Bookshelves in the sidebar.
Name your new bookcase, such as Abandoned, and click Add . You can create many new cabinets if you want. After that, the new bookcase will be on your list.
Next, you will want the "abandoned" books to be automatically removed from Currently Reading . To do so, you need to check the exclusive box (exclusive) for the newly created bookcase. As the name implies, any bookcase flagged as "exclusive" will ensure that any book classified in that section can be placed elsewhere. Click I'm Done after you are done making changes.
Now, you can easily push books you no longer want to read out of Currently Reading by selecting a book, in the drop-down menu in the detailed view, select Abandoned (or the name you have reserved). there).
The status of the book will update and thanks to the previous exclusive click , the book is easily pushed out of the Currently Reading bookcase and stays in the Abandoned bookcase .
