How to clean nail art brushes

For Nail Art lovers , their brushes are a means to create real miniature works of art.

Such important tools must be treated with care and cleaned regularly after each application for hygiene reasons , but also to preserve their shape and ensure lasting performance .

HOW TO CLEAN NAIL BRUSHES ART

Let's start by saying that the bristles of the brushes are very delicate , it doesn't take much to end up with a bald or bent brush, but with some small precautions we can keep our work tools and make the bristles last longer.

Let's see together what are the tricks for the care and cleaning of brushes and the procedure you can follow for cleaning. 

When should brushes be cleaned? Immediately after use. It is not a good practice to let them dry and keep them dirty for hours or days by postponing cleaning, because the bristles literally remain encrusted. When you go to wash them, you may have a nasty surprise and discover that they are twisted or even broken because they have been in contact with chemicals for a long time, in an unsuitable position. Damaged bristles make the brush unusable.

CLEANING PROCEDURE

Let's see the steps to follow for proper cleaning:

1)  wipe the brush with cotton soaked in a little acetone-free solvent to remove the enamel or acrylic color that has remained deposited on the bristles;

2) massage the bristles gently, without tearing , so that the enamel melts gradually and completely;

3) wash the brushes with soap or a suitable detergent and then  rinse the brushes under running water trying, as far as possible, not to wet the joint between the handle and the bristles, which is the most delicate part of the brush;

4) let the brushes dry by spreading them on a horizontal surface ; in fact, avoid placing them vertically because the water absorbed by the bristles would drip on the joint, making our attentions useless during washing.

5) for an optimal result, pour a few drops of oil on the tips of the bristles to make them softer and more silky .

USEFUL TIPS

 Here are some small tips to take care of your brushes:

- keep the brushes in a dry place and, if they cannot be stored in their case , use a brush holder or even in a normal glass; avoid leaving them exposed to dust, better keep them in a closet or drawers;

- choose a delicate solvent  so as not to damage the bristles, especially if natural;
- opt for a  compact cotton pad  to remove the enamel from the brushes; other types of cotton, for example wadding, tend to stick easily to the residual enamel, leaving filaments on the brush that are difficult to remove.
