Instructions for activating Auto Delete on Telegram
Telegram has had a feature to automatically delete messages for a long time, but only for Secret Chats . Currently, Telegram users can use this feature in every chat. When they enable it, they will have the option to delete messages after a certain period of time - 24 hours or 7 days.
Note: Messages sent after activating Auto Delete will still appear in the conversation.
How to enable automatic deletion of messages on Telegram for Android
1. First update Telegram to the latest version. Then, open Telegram and tap a chat whose messages you want to automatically delete.
2. Tap on the 3-dot menu in the top right corner.
3. Tap Clear History .
4. Below, you will see the Auto-delete messages in this chat option . Drag the slider inside to adjust the time you want from 24 hours or 7 days - these 2 time periods are available after the message is set and will disappear automatically. Then, tap Enable Auto-Delete .
This feature is now enabled. You can check the remaining time before the message disappears by tapping on it. This will open a small menu and an auto-clear timer below.

All messages you send after activating Auto Delete will be automatically deleted. To know how much time remains until the message is deleted, tap and hold it and you will see a remaining timer below.
