BitLocker is a built-in security feature in Windows 11 that helps prevent unauthorized access to your files and documents by encrypting your drive. This free security tool can password-protect HDDs, SSDs, and even removable drives. If you have used BitLocker to secure your drive, you should change your BitLocker password regularly, following the instructions below.
How to change BitLocker password from right-click menu
Step 1:
Right-click on the locked drive and select Show More options in the displayed list.

Click Change BitLocker password in the displayed list to change the BitLocker password again.

Step 2:
Displays the interface for you to enter the password. First enter the BitLocker display password , then enter the new password and confirm the new password .

Change BitLocker Password via Command Prompt
You can also use the Command Promot utility to change BitLocker password on Windows 11.
Step 1:
Click on Windows 11 search and type CMD. Next, right-click on Command Prompt and select Run as administrator .

Step 2:
In the new interface, enter the command manage-bde -changepassword G: and press Enter. Where the letter G at the end of the command is equal to your drive letter.

Step 3:
Now enter your new BitLocker password and you're done. Command Prompt can only change the password if the drive is unlocked. You'll have to unlock it and then repeat the steps if the drive is locked.

Change BitLocker password via Control Panel
Step 1:
Open Control Panel then click on System and Security .

Step 2:
In this list, scroll down and click on BitLocker Drive Encryption .

Here you will see the drive protected by BitLocker , click on the drop down arrow icon to open more options.

Step 3:
Here you click on Change password to change your password.

You will then see the interface to enter the old password and new password for BitLocker.
