Instructions to set Google Maps as default map on iPhone
You cannot change the default application to open maps on iPhone but must use Apple Maps. However, we can change the default application on iPhone to Google applications, thereby prioritizing opening maps with Google Maps. Below are instructions for setting Google Maps as the default map on iPhone.
How to set Google Maps as default map on iPhone
Set Google Chrome as default on iPhone
When the default browser on iPhone is set to Chrome, map links will open in Google Maps.
Step 1:
You access Settings on iPhone then click on Chrome browser . Switch to the new interface, then click on Default browser application .
Step 2:
Safari is the default browser on iPhone. We will switch to Chrome browser .
Set Gmail as default on iPhone
In Gmail, you can set Google Maps as the default app for opening map links in emails.
Step 1:
You also click on Settings and then select Gmail in the list. Next, we click on Default Mail App to adjust.
Step 2:
Here users also choose to switch to default Gmail on iPhone .
Step 3:
Continue to open the Gmail application and click on the 3-dash icon in the top left corner of the interface. Click on Settings to adjust.
Step 4:
In the interface as shown, you select Default application . In the interface as shown, we select Google Maps in the Move from your location section .
In Move between locations , click on the Google Maps application .
Once you set Chrome and Gmail as default apps on your iPhone and use Google Maps to open maps in Gmail, all map links will now be prioritized to open in Google Maps.
