Manage safe Internet access for young children

With the current pace of social development, the  Internet  is no longer an unfamiliar term for us from the elderly to the very young. Anyone can access the internet to find the information they need.

The internet can be both productive as well as detrimental to the interests of young children. While platforms like RARBG can help them download everything from educational materials to E-Books and Podcasts, other platforms can also lead to the showcasing of explicit content. Parents need to teach their kids about what they should and what they shouldn’t do while using the internet. Proper training and strict monitoring is the only way to control the internet activities of kids.

We cannot deny that social networks bring many positive benefits to us, it helps us to expand our knowledge, connect people together, but besides that it also has unpredictable harms, especially especially young children, if adults like us do not know how to manage children to access the internet freely, it will lead to many bad consequences.

Here are some guidelines to help parents manage their children's safe internet access.

1. Google search engine

Anyone can go to the Google.com website to search for anything they want, and children are no exception. So, how to make this search engine safer for children? It's very simple, you just need to activate the SafeSearch Filter of this tool by visiting the link google.com/preferences or pressing the Settings button on the Google homepage and selecting Search settings.

Next, in the settings interface that has just appeared, check the Turn On SafeSearch item. Besides, if you want to hard lock the above setting, click the Lock SafeSearch link. At this point, Google will ask you to sign in to your Gmail account.

Still on the settings page, you can also disable the quick result prediction function by clicking Never showinstant results to never display Instant results. This way, you can minimize results that are inaccurate, even the exact opposite of what your child is looking for. Finally, click Save to save it after the setup is complete.

In addition, you can also apply the same operations on mobile devices running Android and  iOS operating systems  through a number of available browsers to access the internet safely and effectively.

2. YouTube

For YouTube, all you need to do is scroll to the bottom of the page. Then click on the Restricted Mode button, select On to turn on the restricted mode and finally click Save to finish, so your children can access the internet more safely.

From now on, YouTube will remove videos with unhealthy content from the list of search results, helping to protect children from inappropriate videos.

3. iPhone and iPad

If your kids regularly use iPhone or iPad, you can also easily prevent types of unhealthy content while surfing the web on Safari with just a few simple steps. Specifically, go to Settings > General > Restrictions.

If this is your first time logging into this section, tap Enable Restrictions, then enter a 4-digit password.

Next, find and click Website, then check the box for Limit Adult Content.

From now on, the Safari browser will block all websites containing sensitive content as well as content that is not suitable for children.

4. Android

For Android devices, you can block unhealthy search results on Google by activating the SafeSearch filter mode. While this feature isn't 100% accurate, it still helps kids avoid most adult content.

Accordingly, after launching the Google application, press the Menu button (the 3 dashes icon in the upper right corner), select Settings > Accounts and Privacy .

Next, slide the activation bar of the SafeSearch filter option and you're done.

In addition, you can also enable the Access Control feature of children or someone called Parental Controls for the Google Play online app store by pressing the Menu button ( in the upper right corner of the Google Play interface) and select Settings.

Then, click on the Parental Controls item, slide the Parental Controls activation bar to the On position and enter the 4-digit PIN code.

From now on, click on Apps and games, then click on the rating that corresponds to the child's age.

Once done, click Save and you 're done.

5. Use dark web blocking software

If you are still not comfortable with the above methods, you can also install some third-party dark web blocking software, such as Kaspersky Internet Security (paid).

More specifically, after downloading and installing, select the Parental Control menu in the main window of Kaspersky Internet Security, then set the password as you like.

At this point, Kaspersky Internet Security will allow you to customize a series of features, including blocking websites with unhealthy content.
