Microsoft Launches Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024 With Broader Device Support and Big Changes

Today, Microsoft officially launched another version of the Windows 11 operating system. Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024 is now available. Businesses and hardware manufacturers in various fields can immediately apply the new operating system to their operations to create high-quality Internet of Things (IoT) products.

Speaking about the launch of Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024, Microsoft said in a blog post:

We are providing a more flexible solution for device makers with updated IoT hardware requirements, enabling more device types and thus a broader market. Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024 expands the number of removable packages to 36, further empowering device makers to customize the operating system to create the perfect platform for even resource-constrained devices.

Most notably, the feature allows other devices to connect and stream wirelessly to a device running Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC. Additionally, the new operating system will also allow x86 applications to run on the system for devices running Arm-based processors.

There will also be some user interface changes in this new OS version:

Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024 brings new elements like the taskbar overflow menu and File Explorer tabs to streamline tasks and maximize productivity. The OS has also improved accessibility by introducing system-wide live captioning and voice access. Additionally, braille displays now work seamlessly across multiple screen readers, and Narrator supports new braille input/output languages, simplifying the end-user experience.

Microsoft said the company has also enhanced security for Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024 through the introduction of a new Windows Security app, which provides quick access to antivirus protection, firewall, and network security features, etc. As an LTSC release, Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024 will be continuously supported by Microsoft for at least 10 years.
