Pre-installed apps that can be safely uninstalled on Samsung phones
Deleting apps you know you won't use is a great way to save storage space and minimize background processes on your phone. This is especially true for Galaxy devices, as they come with a lot of Samsung apps pre-installed.
One of the worst things about Samsung phones is the amount of bloatware that comes with the device. While some of these apps can be useful, many of them don't add much value and are best uninstalled.
Here are the Samsung apps that you can uninstall from your Galaxy device:
Samsung Internet
Bixby Dictation
Samsung Health
Voice Recorder
Samsung Members
DECO PIC
Samsung Notes Add-ons
Samsung Find
Samsung Music
Game Booster Plus
Smart Switch
Samsung Free
Samsung Kids
Health Platform
Samsung Translator
Samsung Wallet
While uninstalling these apps won't harm your phone, there are some useful pre-installed Samsung apps that you might consider keeping.
Samsung apps can be disabled
Some Samsung apps are built into the system and cannot be uninstalled, but you can still disable them. This way, they don't run in the background wasting your battery, RAM , and processing power. You can also hide unused apps from your Home screen or app drawer.
Here are the Samsung apps you can disable on your Galaxy device:
AR Doodle
Bixby Voice
My Galaxy
Samsung Shop
Galaxy Avatar
AR Emoji
Calendar
OneDrive
Samsung Visit In
AR Emoji Stickers
Game Launcher
Samsung Checkout
AppCloud
AR Emoji Editor
Link to Windows
Samsung Max
Avatar Stickers
If you change your mind and want to use these apps again, you can turn them on.
Samsung Apps You Should Keep
Many Samsung apps aren't very useful, and so you might want to delete them. Before you do, check out the following Samsung apps you should use every day and keep on your Galaxy device for the best experience.
Google Chrome is the browser of choice for most people, but if you want the best mobile browsing experience on your Galaxy, Samsung's native Internet browser is the obvious choice. When comparing Google Chrome and Samsung Internet, you'll find the latter to be much more customizable, private, and easier to use with one hand.
Secret mode, Samsung Internet’s equivalent of incognito mode, is also much more secure. It requires biometrics to use, so no one else can access it on your phone. Additionally, files downloaded while in Secret mode can only be opened in Secret mode and won’t show up anywhere else on your phone. This is so obvious that many people are surprised that Google hasn’t implemented it in Chrome yet.
You should only choose Chrome if cross-platform sync is really important to you and you want your bookmarks to sync across all your devices when signed in to your Google account.
If you’ve never used the Samsung Members app before, you might be quick to dismiss it as junkware, but it’s actually an incredibly useful tool. Inside the app is a suite of diagnostic tests that can help you check for problems with your Samsung phone.
The app also lets you read FAQs, access technical support, request repairs, find the nearest service center, register your device with Samsung Care+, and view exclusive deals on new Samsung products. If you’re invested in the Samsung ecosystem, the Members app is a must-have.
Copy and paste option across multiple devices in Phone Link
You may know the Windows Phone Link app that lets you control your phone through your computer and make calls, read and reply to messages, view recent photos, and mirror your phone's screen.
All of these features are available on every Android phone, but there are a few Phone Link features that are exclusive to Samsung users — like cross-platform copy and paste, drag-and-drop file transfers, and RCS messaging — that make for a much more seamless experience.
Google apps that can be deleted
In addition to Samsung apps, you can also remove some Google apps without worrying about breaking your phone. Because Google controls Android, many Google apps are tied to the system, so you shouldn't mess them up. For example, you probably shouldn't remove important apps like Google, Maps, Gmail , Photos, Chrome, Drive, and Google Play Services.
But you can easily uninstall or disable the following apps if they are not useful to you:
Android phones from other manufacturers like Google, Asus, or Motorola mostly come with clean software. But Samsung's One UI is full of all sorts of apps that you might not find useful and should therefore uninstall or disable.
Remember that apart from pre-installed junkware, there may be a lot of other apps that you should uninstall from your phone to make it run smoother and save storage space.
