Windows 10 time in the taskbar with seconds display

The time and, depending on the setting, the date and the day of the week are displayed in the taskbar, but unfortunately no seconds in the time.

This is what it looks like by default without the seconds display.

However, this can be changed with a new additional entry in the registry.

And this is how it is done in Windows 10 .

First we call up the Run window with the key combination Windows + R.

We then enter this text in this popup:

regedit

And then click on OK and confirm the existing warning message again with OK.

Then this page opens:

Then on the left we look for the entry:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced

To do this, we copy the name of the entry and paste it into this bar at the top:

a new entry.

set to 1.

0 means the seconds are not displayed, 1 means that they should be displayed.

To activate this change we have to open the task manager.
