Official UK Singles Chart for the Week of October 19, 2026: Top 40 and Biggest Moves
For the chart period anchored to Monday, October 19, the current official issue is the one published Friday, October 23, 2026. Official Charts dates that chart October 23–29. “Babydoll” by Jamie Miller rises one place to No. 1, while Tate McRae’s new entry “Housewife” opens at No. 2. Official Charts reported that only 556 chart units separated the two songs, and said Miller became the first Welsh artist in 15 years to earn a UK Number 1 single.

The biggest climbs, drops, and new entries
The largest climb inside the Top 40 belongs to “Expectations” by Olivia Rodrigo and Chappell Roan, which jumps from No. 35 to No. 3, a gain of 32 places and a new chart peak. Fontaines D.C.’s “Marianne” also makes a major move, rising from No. 41 to No. 12. Alongside that return to the Top 40, the band places two new tracks in the upper half: “Japan” at No. 14 and “Demolition” at No. 18.
“Boston” by Stella Lefty records the steepest fall among this week’s Top 40 songs, dropping 22 places from No. 6 to No. 28. Taylor Swift’s former chart-topper “Patient Zero” falls from No. 1 to No. 10. Seven songs make their first appearance in this Top 40: “Housewife,” “Lies,” “Japan,” “Demolition,” “Think of You,” “Flower in a Hurricane,” and “Lodi When.” Michael Jackson’s “Rethriller” returns at No. 39; Official Charts marks it as a re-entry, not a new release.
“Lies,” Zach Bryan’s collaboration with Lana Del Rey, debuts at No. 7, a new UK chart high for Bryan, according to the Official Charts Company. The combination of a new No. 1, a close runner-up, and a 32-place jump at No. 3 makes this week’s leading story one of movement as well as debut positions.
Publication date and chart methodology
The Official Charts Company published this listing on Friday, October 23, 2026, for the chart week of October 23–29, 2026. The Company says the Official Singles Chart combines eligible audio and video streams with downloads, CD sales, and vinyl sales. The public chart shows each song’s current rank, last-week position (“LW”), peak, and number of weeks on the chart; it does not publish a unit total for every entry. The movement column below is calculated from the displayed last-week and current positions. “New” indicates a debut in the chart, while “Re-entry” indicates a return after an earlier run.
