Start with the total you will actually pay for the console and the games you want. A PS5 bundle is a good value only if its model, included game, and accessories fit your plans. A PlayStation Store discount is a separate digital purchase, and “up to 75% off” does not mean every game—or the console—gets that discount.
For UK shoppers, Sony’s November 3, 2026 announcement schedules the PlayStation Store Black Friday promotion from November 4 through November 30. Sony had not announced a PS5 console discount in that Store-sale announcement; check console and bundle listings separately before treating any advertised price as a Black Friday hardware deal.
Sony says the promotion will cover thousands of PS5, PS4, and PS VR2 games, expansions, and downloadable content, with discounts of up to 75%. The full list and regional prices are to appear on the Store when the promotion begins. Sony also says discount levels may differ by region, so UK prices in pounds are the relevant figures for a UK account. See the PlayStation Blog announcement dated November 3, 2026.
Sony gives GMT for the UK timing. The UK had returned to GMT after clocks went back on October 25, 2026, as listed by GOV.UK’s clock-change calendar. Check the product page for the end time of each game you are considering; the overall sale end date does not guarantee that every discount lasts until then.
Use Sony’s UK reference prices as a baseline, not as a promise of a sale price. Sony announced that these recommended retail prices took effect on April 2, 2026: the disc-equipped PS5 at £569.99, the PS5 Digital Edition at £519.99, and PS5 Pro at £789.99. Those figures help you judge a retailer’s current offer, but stock, bundles, and retailer prices can change. Sony’s price announcement is the source for that UK baseline.
| Option | Could fit if… | Check before checkout |
|---|---|---|
| PS5 with disc drive | You own physical PS5 games, want to buy discs, or use movie discs. | Confirm the exact console model and bundle contents; compare the final price with the digital model plus any accessories you would otherwise buy. |
| PS5 Digital Edition | Your games are already digital or you expect to buy them from PlayStation Store. | It has no disc drive. Check storage capacity and whether your particular model supports Sony’s separate drive. |
| PS5 Pro | You specifically want the Pro model’s performance features. | Compare the Pro’s own price and the games you play; do not assume a bundle discount makes it the right model. |
| Console bundle | You would have bought the included game or second controller anyway. | Check whether the game is a disc or a download voucher, whether the controller is an extra, and whether the items are available now. |
For a simple calculation, the published UK price difference between the disc PS5 and Digital Edition is £50. Sony’s UK Disc Drive product page showed the add-on at £69.99 when checked on November 3, 2026; for a compatible slim Digital Edition, adding it to the £519.99 reference price would total £589.98 before any promotion. That is £19.99 more than the disc PS5’s £569.99 reference price. This comparison matters only if you need the drive and have a compatible console model; Sony says its drive works with PS5 Digital Edition CFI-2000 and CFI-2100 models and PS5 Pro. Confirm compatibility and the live price on the official UK Disc Drive page and PS5 product page.
Write down the items in the offer and price those same items separately. Count an included game at its current price only if it is a game you actually want, and compare the same edition and platform. A voucher code is not a physical disc; check account, region, internet, and redemption requirements shown on the listing. For a two-controller pack, compare against buying the same console and a second controller separately. Do not count a subscription trial or cosmetic add-on at its advertised value if you would not otherwise buy it.
Also read the stock status and checkout total. A product page can show a model and a price while the item is unavailable, and a bundle’s apparent saving is irrelevant if it cannot be purchased. Note delivery charges, return terms, and any required add-ons. If the offer is from a retailer, compare like-for-like model numbers and new versus refurbished condition; a lower price for a different model or condition is not a direct equivalent.
If your existing library is mostly on discs, prioritize the disc-drive model and compare the bundle against the console alone. If you buy only digital games, the Digital Edition may suit you, but compare its total with the disc model before paying extra later for a drive. If you are choosing a bundle, value only the included items you would use. Then compare the Store’s exact game edition and sale deadline separately.
The practical rule is simple: compare the same console model, equivalent bundle contents, and the same game edition at the final UK checkout price. Sony’s announced Store dates are useful for timing; they do not by themselves confirm a hardware discount or a particular game’s price.
