Thanks to artificial intelligence (AI), what seems like a movie dream - humans being able to understand animal language - may soon become a reality.
The tool uses AI to analyze the sound of a dog barking and determine the dog's breed, emotions, and even intentions. This information is translated into English to help the dog's owner understand what the dog wants.

Dog owners who better understand their animals could help reduce frustration, anxiety and even pet abandonment, researchers say.
Test results based on a database of more than 200 minutes of barking from 74 dogs in Mexican cities showed that the AI tool could successfully distinguish between different types of reactions, including normal growls and angry barks when encountering a stranger.
Researcher Rada Mihalcea suggests that, in addition to dogs, the tool could be trained on other species such as birds and dolphins.
The tool is still in development, but scientists hope it will be commercially available within the next few years. Scientists have not yet announced the price and availability of the device. The AI bot built into the tool, called Wav2Vec 2.0, can accurately identify dog breeds, primarily chihuahuas, poodles, and schnauzers, based on their barks.
