Apple News+ Food will launch in April with iOS/iPadOS 18.4, currently in beta testing.
The new section will offer tens of thousands of recipes from Apple News+ publishers including Allrecipes, Bon Appétit, Food & Wine, Good Food, and Serious Eats. All are available in the Recipe Catalog. Recipes are added daily, and favorites can be saved for offline access.

Within the categories, you can search for something specific or use filters like Dinner, Easy, Vegetarian, Dessert, etc.
Each recipe page lets you easily review ingredients and view instructions. When it's time to cook, step-by-step instructions appear full screen, making it easy to read from anywhere in the room.
Apple News+ offers stories from more than 400 publications, along with local, national, and international news. There are also exclusive daily puzzles to solve. Apple News+ subscriptions cost $12.99/month with a free trial.
Apple also says select stories and recipes from the feature will be available if you don't subscribe.
A notable addition, but still has some issues
Apple News+ is an overlooked Apple subscription option compared to more popular names like Apple Music and Apple Arcade . Apple News+ Food could help attract more subscribers with its well-designed features.
While it looks like Apple is targeting some popular third-party recipe-organizing apps, Apple News+ Food still has some major drawbacks. The biggest issue is that you can’t add your own recipes or import something you find from TikTok, Instagram, or elsewhere.
If you’re looking for a truly full-featured recipe app to use right now, give Pestle a try. It’s free to download on the App Store for iPhone and iPad. With a subscription, you can unlock a bunch of features, like importing recipes directly from any website or social media, meal planning, and more. It’s one of the most used apps on the iPhone.
