How to protect your Google account with Private Checkup
If you have a Google account, chances are there’s more information than you think being tracked and stored in it. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, though. Google does a great job of trying to keep all that information as private as possible, but it can’t hurt to take a look at it by knowing how to secure your Google account with the Privacy Checkup tool.
How to protect your Google account with Privacy Checkup
Google has created a useful tool in your account that lets you help control how your information is used, stored, and who can see it. It's called Privacy Checkup, and here's how to use it.
Open the Google app on your phone.
Click on the user profile picture in the upper right corner.
Select Manage your Google Account .
In the middle of the screen, under your name, swipe left and tap Data & personalization .
Select Take Privacy Checkup or refer to the review suggestions .
Select See suggestions .
Steps to use Privacy Checkup tool
Follow the prompts to set up your privacy settings for auto-delete of your account, location history, YouTube history, inactive account plans, face groups on Google Photos , and ad settings.
You can perform a privacy checkup for your Google account using Chrome if you're signed in. Just click your profile picture in the upper-right corner of the browser window, then start with step three from the top.
Since Google accounts contain a lot of personal information, it makes sense to keep it secure.
