The NYSE trading hours and calendar establishes the regular-session closing time. The different Eastern offsets are intentional: daylight saving time ends November 1 under NIST’s 2026 daylight saving time rules. Sunday’s edition date therefore does not imply a Sunday stock-market closing price.
All market values are in billions of US dollars; 1,000 billion equals $1 trillion. Market caps are rounded to one decimal place, but ranks use the unrounded source values. The final column is the representative stock’s October price change, excluding dividends.

These are source-specific reported market values. Providers can differ in share-count timing and treatment of multiple share classes, so another provider’s table may show a different order for closely matched companies.
Apple’s closing price increased from $333.02 on September 30 to $344.63 on October 30, a gain of 3.49%. NVIDIA fell from $228.38 to $204.64, a decline of 10.39%. Their current reported market caps put Apple ahead by approximately $97.8 billion. The underlying endpoints are available in Apple’s Nasdaq historical-price data and NVIDIA’s Nasdaq historical-price data.
That establishes the current leader and the two stocks’ monthly price performance. It does not establish either company’s exact dollar change in market cap, which also depends on the historical number of shares outstanding.
Among the current top 30, Eli Lilly recorded the largest October price increase at 22.51%, followed by Walmart at 18.85%. Their respective closing prices rose from $1,157.08 to $1,417.54 and from $103.92 to $123.51, as shown in Eli Lilly’s historical data and Walmart’s historical data. Mastercard, Chevron, Visa and ExxonMobil also posted price gains above 15% in the comparison.
By contrast, Alphabet declined 18.67%, AMD fell 17.48%, Micron dropped 16.93% and Meta fell 15.19%. Tesla gained 12.68%. The practical reading is that the largest companies did not move as a single group; that observation follows from the price data and does not, by itself, identify the business or economic cause of each move.
Bank of America occupies position 30 in this Nasdaq-based calculation at approximately $349.7 billion. Intel is immediately below it at approximately $347.5 billion. The gap is only about $2.2 billion, making consistent share-count definitions especially relevant near the boundary.
A comparable September 30 company-market-cap ranking was not independently verified. Consequently, this edition does not assign monthly rank gains or losses, identify confirmed entrants or exits, or present stock-price returns as market-cap growth. Those comparisons require two complete, compatible company-level snapshots.
According to Nasdaq’s market-data methodology, reported market capitalization uses total shares outstanding multiplied by the current last-sale price; Nasdaq identifies QuoteMedia and SEC filings as inputs to its share data. This article retains Nasdaq’s reported market-cap field rather than substituting revenue, assets, enterprise value or an index weight.
The current order, the comparison dates and the source limitations should travel together whenever these figures are quoted. Removing the October closing-date label would make an opening-November snapshot appear more current than the underlying trading data.
