McDonald’s Pokémon Happy Meals in Australia: How to Check Availability

McDonald’s Pokémon Happy Meals are expected to reach Australia in November 2026, but the announcement of a countrywide rollout is not the same as confirmation that your nearest Macca’s has the promotion in stock. For a useful answer, check the Australian Happy Meal promotion page, select the particular restaurant in an official ordering channel, and ask that restaurant about its current toys and cards before making a special trip.

Status checked October 31, 2026: Australia is listed among the markets in the November phase of the new Pokémon Happy Meal rollout. McDonald’s Australia’s publicly accessible Happy Meal and Toy Zone pages checked for this guide did not establish a verified Australian launch day, final day, participating-store list, or live inventory of Pokémon collectibles. Dates circulating for overseas stores, including the confirmed November 10 U.S. launch, are not Australian opening dates. Availability must be verified at the selected Australian restaurant.

What is confirmed about the 2026 Pokémon Happy Meal?

McDonald’s has announced a new collaboration featuring Pokémon-themed Happy Meals. Its official U.S. menu announcement, dated October 29, 2026, describes 15 collectible toys and 15 trading cards, with a November 10 launch at participating U.S. restaurants. The broader rollout identifies Australia as a November market, but the U.S. announcement does not guarantee an identical assortment, specific date, or stock level at an Australian location.

McDonald’s Australia says its Happy Meal normally includes a toy or book and that selections may vary by restaurant. The official Australian Happy Meal guide also states that a particular toy cannot be promised because supplies are limited. Those existing local rules matter more to someone planning a visit than a collectible checklist published for another country.

How to check availability before visiting an Australian restaurant

1. Start with the Australian Toy Zone, not another country’s announcement

Open McDonald’s Australia’s Toy Zone. This is the chain’s own page for what is available or coming next in Happy Meal toys and books. Look for a Pokémon-specific Australian banner, the offer’s terms, and any date or participation restrictions. The page also advises customers to ask which toy is available in a particular week.

If the site is still displaying another collection, that does not prove every restaurant is out of Pokémon items. It means the page alone has not confirmed the specific Pokémon stock you want. Conversely, a promotional banner is not a reservation of an individual toy.

2. Identify your exact store

Use the official McDonald’s Australia restaurant locator. Search by postcode or suburb and select the branch you actually intend to visit. The locator can help with the restaurant’s location, opening hours, and available services, but it is not presented as a live Pokémon collectible stock tracker.

Be precise about the store. A suburban Drive Thru, a shopping-center location, and a nearby highway restaurant should not be treated as one inventory pool. If one branch says it has run out, check another branch rather than assuming the promotion has ended nationwide.

3. Check the menu for that same restaurant

Open the MyMacca’s app or McDonald’s official Australian online ordering page, choose the correct location, and inspect its current Happy Meal offering. McDonald’s says menu options and prices can vary by store and time of day. A Happy Meal appearing on the menu shows an orderable meal, not necessarily that a Pokémon toy or particular card is available.

If pickup is the goal, confirm the chosen restaurant before paying. McDonald’s mobile-ordering FAQs warn that orders cannot simply be transferred to a different restaurant after submission. If you want a specific collectible rather than just a meal, confirm the collectible before placing a nonrefundable or time-sensitive order.

4. Ask the restaurant a specific stock question

The most useful final check is a direct question to the selected restaurant or its staff: “Are you currently offering the Pokémon Happy Meal, and which Pokémon toy or card inclusion is actually available with a Happy Meal today?” Follow up by asking whether stock applies to counter, Drive Thru, pickup, or delivery orders and whether there is an item-selection policy. Staff may be able to confirm current availability, but supplies can change before you arrive.

If you cannot reach the store, use McDonald’s Australia’s official Help & Support page to find its contact channel. Do not assume a social-media comment about a different branch applies to yours.

What counts as a successful availability check?

Before traveling, aim to answer three separate questions: (1) Has the Pokémon promotion begun at this specific location? (2) Is a Pokémon collectible currently included with the purchase method you intend to use? (3) If you care about a particular character or card, can the store confirm that exact item rather than merely the broader promotion?

These answers have different levels of certainty. An official Australian promotion page is good evidence that a campaign is being advertised. An item visible in the selected restaurant’s ordering menu is evidence of an offer at that location, subject to changes. A staff confirmation is more useful for the current toy selection, but it is still not a future stock guarantee. Treat a screenshot, old advertisement, or overseas checklist as background rather than proof of stock.

What if the app shows a Happy Meal but not Pokémon?

First check whether you selected the intended restaurant and whether the Australian Toy Zone has updated to the Pokémon collection. The ordinary Happy Meal menu can remain available when a special toy promotion is not active or has sold out. The app may show a meal without identifying the exact toy inside. McDonald’s Australia’s ordering terms state that availability and price can change between restaurants and that products may be unavailable by the time an order is processed.

If the promotional item is the main reason for your purchase, avoid guessing. Ask the restaurant directly before checkout or choose another location. If your purpose is simply to buy a Happy Meal, the regular food choices may still be available even when a particular promotional collectible is not.

Can you pick a particular Pokémon toy, or buy the toy separately?

McDonald’s Australia’s general policy says Happy Meal toy selections vary and a specific toy cannot be guaranteed. The Toy Zone may indicate different toys across weeks. That means collecting an entire set can require patience, and repeated purchases still do not guarantee an individual character or card.

No verified Australian nationwide rule for selling the 2026 Pokémon toy separately was established in the sources checked. Ask the restaurant about its policy rather than assuming that toys, cards, or sealed card packs will be sold individually. Likewise, do not treat reports of two trading cards with a toy in other markets as a binding promise about every Australian order until local terms confirm the contents.

When should you change your plan?

• Before the Australian launch is locally confirmed: monitor the official Toy Zone instead of making a trip based on a rumored date.
• If one branch is sold out: contact another nearby restaurant; a single stockout does not establish a national end date.
• If only a specific character matters: ask which toy is available now and be prepared not to purchase if it is different.
• If the ordering channel does not identify the collectible: seek direct confirmation instead of treating a generic Happy Meal listing as proof.
• If timing is critical: check again shortly before leaving, because a limited promotion can change during the day.

Pokémon’s own partner-promotion guidance also notes that retailer promotions may differ by country, participating location, and date, and typically run while supplies last. That is a useful reminder not to apply a U.S. collectible guide or release calendar automatically to Australia.

Bottom line: check the promotion, check the store, then check the toy

For anyone searching for McDonald’s Pokémon Happy Meals in Australia, the useful outcome is not merely finding a November 2026 headline. It is knowing whether a specific Australian restaurant is participating, whether it has Pokémon items available for your intended order, and whether the collectible offered matches what you want. Use the official Australian Toy Zone and location finder, inspect the selected store’s ordering menu, and ask the store about stock if the collectible matters. Until McDonald’s Australia confirms exact local dates and inventory, do not treat overseas start dates or product photos as a promise that your nearest Macca’s has them.
