The Japanese horror film , when the project was just announced, caused a great reputation because the film was based on a real event about the cursed village Inunaki - one of the three most famous haunted places in the country of China. Cherry is directed by Takashi Shimizu , famous for his hit productions like Ju-On or The Grudge . His latest work is also very much praised for the horror it brings to viewers. However, let's join WebTech360 movie Village of Death (2020) to see if the movie is really scary.

Plot: Doctor Kanae's brother Yuma and his girlfriend go to a tunnel that is rumored to be haunted. After that day, the girlfriend had a strange expression and finally jumped upstairs to commit suicide in front of her lover. Determined to find the truth, Yuma and his youngest brother, Kota, went into that tunnel together to discover the truth, but never came back. This disappearance and the deaths of many around him have caused Kanae to assemble clues to get answers to secrets related to Inunaki Village.

Before entering the movie review, I briefly brief you about the legend surrounding this village of Inunaki . This village called " Barking Dog " is a real village, existed in the Edo period (1603-1868) of Japan . To enter this village, one has to pass through a large stone tunnel and the surroundings are extremely murky. For some reason, in this village there is no mobile signal and Internet, the houses are abandoned and many strange phenomena occur.

The village of death (2020) has completely conveyed the legend on the big screen. The explanation of the disappearance of the villagers here as well as the name Inunaki made the viewer feel quite creepy. Japanese ghost movies are different from American ghost films in that they do not use Jump - scared animations but instead use spiritual, causal details to install fear for viewers.

Director Takashi Shimizu was really intimidated by the audience almost throughout the duration of the film, especially the classic " landing on him " scene in the trailer you have seen. Curiosity soared in the viewers' minds because of where the strange and spooky deaths are coming from and how do we resolve this? Therefore, you can hardly take your eyes off the screen to open up these brain hacking mysteries.

However, the Death Village 's way of solving the problem is inadequate and clear, leaving the audience really unaware of what's going on or why the innocent people were being killed. The plot is more and more drowning, thereby reducing the horror significantly and no longer even the horror substance.

Oh forget, many of you, after watching the movie, will wonder about the connection between the Inunaki people and dogs because the movie makes viewers think in one direction, sometimes in another direction. According to me, the people here are obsessed with compulsions when rumored to have a relationship with Inu, so they self-form such behavior and the story of the movie may simply be a dream of Kanae. Although the content of the movie is relatively simple as the above plot summary, but by leading the smart storyline, Death Village (2020) does not make viewers bored and sleepy. The film is quite brain-hacking when it comes to factor in an event that takes place in both the present and the past. In addition to bringing the initial fear to the audience, the film hardly pushed any other emotions for nearly 2 hours.

Through the story of this haunted village, the filmmakers want to convey the message of love for animals, about the trade-off between humanity and money as well as highlighting treasured family feelings. The content of the movie is not too good and obsessive as many praised, so WebTech360 thinks 6.5 / 10 for this part is appropriate.

The shape of the spirits in the movie is quite strange, in the style of combining zombies with lagged TV signals, flicker, sometimes not. The ghost scenes in the movie are quite creepy and haunting though nothing new. Movie sound at normal level, not enough to impress. WebTech360 also scores this section 6.5 / 10 .

Acting: Japanese films are often seen as over-acting and over-acting, but in the case of Death Village (2020) , those judgments are no longer true. The actors' acting is quite natural, not forced, although not too good. The biggest highlight in this part is the shining beauty of actress Ayaka Miyoshi in each frame.
