Mike Amor’s Channel 7 Exit: What’s Reported and What Remains Unconfirmed
Reports say Mike Amor has left Channel 7 after his October 30, 2026 bulletin. Here’s what is known, what isn’t, and how to track 7NEWS Melbourne changes.
Reviewed October 31, 2026. NVIDIA shares trade on Nasdaq under the ticker NVDA. An NVDA stock quote can show several different prices: the last completed trade, the previous regular-session close, a buyer's bid, a seller's ask, or a trade made before the opening bell or after the closing bell. Before deciding what a change means, identify which price, which trading session, and what timestamp the screen actually shows. This guide explains those fields without presenting an unverified live NVIDIA share price.
Start with the Nasdaq NVDA market page or NVIDIA's investor-relations stock quote and chart. NVIDIA also confirms its Nasdaq ticker in its investor FAQ. A brokerage quote screen is useful if you are preparing an order, because it can show the market data and order types available to that account.
Do not assume that a page labeled "live" or "real-time" guarantees a current, consolidated market-wide price. For example, Nasdaq's NVDA premarket trade view states that its displayed trades are delayed at least 15 minutes. Displayed availability, subscriptions, exchange coverage, and individual fields can differ. During this review, the accessible Nasdaq NVDA summary page did not expose a verifiable current numerical quote, so no dollar value is claimed here.
| Quote field | How to read it | What not to assume |
|---|---|---|
| Last price / last sale | Price of a completed trade shown by that data feed, with its session and timestamp. | It is not necessarily the price at which your next order will execute. |
| Previous close | Reference closing price from the previous regular trading day, as defined by the provider. | It is not the latest after-hours trade. |
| Change / change % | Difference between the displayed reference price and the current price, often compared with the previous close. | A percentage alone does not reveal the comparison baseline or session. |
| Bid / ask | Displayed buying and selling quotations. Ask minus bid is the quoted spread. | Neither side guarantees execution for your full quantity. |
| Volume | Shares traded within the feed's stated period and coverage. | All platforms do not necessarily count identical sessions or venues. |
| Day's high / low | Highest and lowest prices over the period defined by the quote provider. | Some day ranges exclude premarket and after-hours trading. |
| 52-week high / low | A historical range over roughly the preceding year, using a provider's price adjustments and rules. | It does not predict a future trading range. |
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's Investor.gov explanation of bid and ask defines the bid as what a buyer is willing to pay and the ask as what a seller is willing to accept. Nasdaq's official closing-price page also makes an important distinction: its regular-session high and low exclude extended-hours trades.
Suppose a hypothetical stock has a previous close of $100.00 and a last price of $103.00 in the regular session. The change is $3.00, or +3.00%, calculated as ($103.00 − $100.00) ÷ $100.00 × 100. If the bid is $102.90 and the ask is $103.10, the quoted spread is $0.20 per share. These invented numbers illustrate arithmetic only; they are not NVIDIA trades, targets, or forecasts.
Under Nasdaq's published schedule as of October 31, 2026, regular stock trading runs on eligible weekdays from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. New York Eastern Time. Nasdaq's standard premarket window is 4:00–9:30 a.m. ET, and its after-hours window is 4:00–8:00 p.m. ET. Brokerage access may begin later, end earlier, or differ in available order types. Check Nasdaq's official market-hours and holiday schedule and your broker's trading-session disclosure for exceptions, shortened sessions, and holidays.
| Nasdaq session | New York Eastern Time | UTC during EDT (UTC−04:00) | UTC during EST (UTC−05:00) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Premarket | 4:00–9:30 a.m. | 08:00–13:30 UTC | 09:00–14:30 UTC |
| Regular market | 9:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m. | 13:30–20:00 UTC | 14:30–21:00 UTC |
| After-hours | 4:00–8:00 p.m. | 20:00–00:00 UTC (next day) | 21:00–01:00 UTC (next day) |
Specific calendar check: Saturday, October 31, 2026, is not a normal Nasdaq stock-trading day. The preceding regular Friday session, October 30, falls under Eastern Daylight Time (EDT, UTC−04:00), when its 9:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m. New York session corresponds to 13:30–20:00 UTC. The next regular Monday, November 2, falls under Eastern Standard Time (EST, UTC−05:00), when the same session corresponds to 14:30–21:00 UTC. The National Institute of Standards and Technology confirms that U.S. daylight saving time ends November 1, 2026. A timestamp ending in "Z" means UTC, not Eastern Time.
Some brokers provide access to additional overnight venues, but that does not make every stock quote a continuously executable Nasdaq regular-session price. Also, a weekend chart or portfolio figure may continue to display Friday's closing reference or a later eligible extended-hours trade. Read its trade date and label instead of assuming the market is presently open.
Premarket and after-hours prices represent trades or quotes in a different session. They do not revise the prior regular-session closing auction price. Trading interest and quoted size can be thinner, the bid-ask spread may widen, and different venues can show different prices. The SEC's extended-hours trading bulletin warns about lower liquidity, price volatility, uncertain prices, and varying order-handling rules.
For example, a hypothetical after-hours last trade at $104.00 following a $103.00 regular close would show a $1.00 difference between those two observations. It would not prove that the stock will open at $104.00 the next morning. The opening price is established by actual trading when the next session begins. Avoid treating a move displayed on an isolated extended-hours feed as evidence of a specific corporate event or cause without a verified announcement.
First look for the as-of trade time beside the price, not merely your phone's current clock or the website's last page-refresh time. Next identify whether the timestamp is Eastern Time, UTC, or your device's chosen zone. Then check whether the displayed value says regular, premarket, after-hours, last trade, bid, ask, or indicative. Finally, read any delayed-data disclaimer and note whether the provider covers one venue or a broader consolidated market feed.
If a quote looks frozen, it may be because the market is closed, the latest trade was some time ago, the feed is delayed, or the provider has not supplied data. These possibilities cannot be distinguished from the dollar figure alone. Comparing two platforms without matching their timestamps and sessions can produce a misleading impression that one of them is wrong.
Yes. NVIDIA completed a 10-for-1 forward stock split in June 2024, and split-adjusted trading began June 10, according to the company's official stock-split FAQ. A chart that adjusts historical prices for that split will show past per-share prices on a comparable post-split basis; unadjusted transaction records may look very different. A 10-for-1 split increases the share count while proportionately reducing the per-share reference price; it does not by itself multiply the value of a shareholder's position by ten.
When studying an older NVDA price, check whether the chart says adjusted, unadjusted, or adjusted close. An adjusted close may also reflect other corporate actions depending on the data vendor. For historical comparisons, use the same adjustment methodology throughout rather than mixing an old raw print with a split-adjusted modern chart.
NVIDIA's investor-relations site is a starting point for company disclosures; Nasdaq and your brokerage remain relevant for the quote itself and execution conditions. The essential rule is to compare like with like: the same security, the same session, the same timestamp convention, and a clearly stated price baseline. This article explains market data and does not recommend buying, selling, or holding NVDA.
