The world's first Jet Suit Race was held in Dubai by Gravity Industries, a pioneer in jet suits, in partnership with the Dubai Sports Council.
Here, pilots dressed in flight suits like Iron Man - the world's most famous superhero - compete in pairs to reach the final round. Most of them are pilots from Gravity Industries.
Richard Browning, founder of Gravity Industries, said the male and female athletes will wear 1,500-horsepower suits to compete. They will overcome the technological limits of humans and machines to fly around obstacles on the water, creating a scene similar to a real-life superhero movie.

The Jet Suit was first introduced in 2017. The suit is equipped with 5 gas turbine jet engines, allowing vertical takeoff and landing. The suit is fueled by diesel or biofuel. Currently, this suit can reach speeds of 128 km/h, capable of flying over most terrain.
However, during the race, Ahmed al-Shehhi - the pilot representing the UAE suddenly crashed into the water. He was immediately assisted by rescue workers and was not injured.
British pilot Issa Kalfon won the Jet Suit race in Dubai on February 28.
The race has attracted the attention of many spectators. Many people, after watching the athletes flying over the water, are eager to try this new technology.
