MU-MIMO stands for multi-user multiple input and multiple output. Technology based on the single-user standard MIMO (SU-MIMO) was introduced a decade ago, starting with the 802.11n standard.
MU-MIMO is a way of using multiple antennas to transmit and receive wireless connection and is now commonly used in newer routers. Many phones, laptops, and tablets are also supported by MIMO to exploit the full capacity of the router.

- Principle of operation
On a WiFi Router there will be 1 antenna to communicate with only 1 antenna on the receiving device. WiFi waves transmit and receive data packets through the antenna.
So when you use 2 or more antennas to transmit and receive waves, the transmitted signal is stable and stronger.
- The time each device has to wait for data is reduced to the lowest level.
- Increasing the number of devices handled by the Router simultaneously, avoiding network dropout.
- Increase Download speed (download) with MU-MIMO supported devices.
- For better user experience, even when the device is not MU-MIMO supported.
- MU-MIMO only works on WiFi routers with 802.11ac wireless standards and 5 GHz frequency. This means that older devices that do not support decoding signals with this protocol will have to "mirror".
- MU-MIMO only increases download speed, limits upload ability.
- To speed up downloads, both the WiFi Router and the connected device must integrate MU-MIMO and work with 802.11ac wireless network protocol.
4. Why should use MU-MIMO technology
- MU-MIMO repels WiFi issues while you're in use. The devices on the network do not need time to wait to exchange data from the WiFi router anymore, they will load quickly and not flicker or congestion.
- Thanks to MU-MIMO technology, it will increase the capacity and performance of your Router. Allows it to handle more WiFi activities.
- MU-MIMO allows Router to divide each data packet separately and send to many devices at the same time.
- MU-MIMO will send data continuously to many users of the device connected to the network at the same time.
