Pyke in the previous seasons of TFT was not very prominent. From season 1 to season 4, season 5.5, Pyke only had the task of controlling enemy generals in a small range. Or acting as a rack for late game carry generals.
In DTCL season 7 , Pyke will be a true late game carry. In addition to his ability to deal powerful magic damage from his skills, he also causes negative effects on enemies by reducing healing.
Pyke DTCL 5.5 stats, skills and clan
Pyke's Clan
The Dark Dragon will reduce armor and magic resist to make it easier for Pyke to attack, while he will gain bonus AD and AP. Assassins will, as usual, increase critical strike chance and critical strike damage at a certain level.
What Pyke needs is a defensive line or CC to let him paint Xs all over the board. Pyke is pretty squishy even at 2 stars so having a tanky line or CC will be great for him.
Skills and personal stats
Ability: Pyke dashes towards the enemy with the lowest health and slashes in an X shape, dealing 450/650/5000 magic damage to the target and other enemies hit by the X. Enemies hit have their healing reduced by 50% for 8 seconds. If Pyke hits an enemy below 30%/40%/100% health, he executes the target and instantly heals.
Standard Pyke DTCL season 7 equipment
You already have Assassin, but you can still boost Pyke's critical strike rate and damage with Infinity Edge and Jeweled Gauntlet. Hextech Gunblade is also a great item to help Pyke stay on the field longer.
In addition, crowd control items like Frozen Heart or magic resistance reduction items like Ionic Bolt also help Pyke finish off enemies faster. Some defensive items like Quicksilver or Nightcap will also help Pyke have more time to cast spells on the floor.
Pyke Teamfight Tactics 7
Pyke 6 Dark Dragon 4 Assassin
Pyke will take a fair amount of AP and AD if you get to 6 Dark Dragon, while also reducing the armor and magic resist of the attacked enemy champion. Adding in a Thundering Crossbow or Frozen Heart for crowd control and damage is enough to keep you in the enemy backline. Not to mention, having Talon with you is also very dangerous.
Sy'Fen, Sylas, and Thresh will be tasked with controlling and holding back the enemy's attack. Overall, this team is a bit lacking in defense, but the control will make up for it all.
Pyke 6 Assassin
To get to 6 Assassins, you need an Assassin's Seal or Assassin's Heart. This comp has plenty of damage but weak defense. So Pyke might need a Frozen Heart to control enemies or a Quicksilver Cloak to prevent CC or a Cloak of Darkness to recover.
If you find Shi Oh Yu, replace Sylas and Olaf, give Shi Oh Yu Assassin's Seal and some defensive items like Thornmail and Blood Armor to increase resistance. Shi Oh Yu is a tank and will have more Mystic + Gem to increase recovery and defense for the team.
For now, we're just starting with the defaults. Maybe in the near future, when players have had time to experience DTCL season 7, there will be more effective squads related to Pyke.
