The cause may be that Windows 10 updates interfere with new programs that users install on their computers. Update files may conflict with internal Discord packages. So try removing Discord and reinstalling it. The bug will probably be fixed.
On the keyboard, press Ctrl+Shift+Esc to open the Task Manager.
Go to the Processes tab , look for any Discord related entry.
Select any Discord related process and click End Task .
Exit Task Manager .
On the taskbar, click the Search icon .
Type Control Panel and press Enter .
Click Uninstall a Program in the Programs category .
Right click on Discord and select Uninstall .
Open the Run dialog box by pressing Windows +R on your keyboard.
Enter %appdata% in the Run dialog box and click OK .
Delete the %LocalAppData%/Discord and %AppData%/Discord folders if you see them.
Restart the computer.
After performing the above steps, you can try to install Discord again.
Install Discord on Windows 10
Download the latest version of Discord .
Right click on setup.exe and select Run as administrator .
Click Yes if UAC prompts for permission and follow the on-screen instructions to install the application.
If you're still getting the error that you can't install Discord, try to remember if you recently updated Windows. If so, try removing the most recently updated package to prevent it from interfering with Discord.

Press Windows + I to open the Settings app.
Select Update & Security , and then, in the left pane, click Windows Update .
Move to the right pane, click View Update History .
Click Uninstall and Update .
On the new window, find the recent updates you installed, right click on them and select Uninstall .
Once you've removed the Windows update package, try reinstalling Discord.
Sometimes the failure to install Discord can be caused by a conflict with an old or damaged driver. You will now receive a Discord Update Failed message . Therefore, you need to update the device and system driver to see if the Discord installation error is fixed.
To update the driver, use the built-in Device Manager feature in your computer.
First, open Device Manager from the Start menu or Run Dialog Box provided by the operating system.
Now you have to select the desired driver to update and right click on them to access an option like Update Driver .
To automatically download updates on your system's device drivers, open Control Panel > All Control Panel Items -> Devices and Printers .
Right-clicking on an existing system device in Windows opens a bunch of options, choose Device settings from them.
Now click the Yes option to automatically download and install the icons and applications available from the manufacturer, suitable for your PC.
You can update your system's device driver effectively after a few clicks with some third-party drivers such as Driver Updater, Driver Manager.
Download Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 or later for your system. Next, double-click the installer to download the latest framework for your system. After restarting the PC, reinstall Discord.
Sometimes anti-virus software can also be the cause of Discord failure to load. At this point, you just need to temporarily disable this security tool and try to install the Discord app.
