iPhone models will be upgraded to iOS 19
Apple currently doesn't plan to reveal iOS 19 until June 2025 at WWDC, but some details about the next-generation operating system update have begun to leak months in advance.
LLM Siri
Apple is developing a much smarter version of Siri that uses advanced large language models, allowing the personal assistant to better compete with AI-powered chatbots like ChatGPT.
A large language model or LLM is trained on large amounts of data, allowing it to understand and generate natural, human-like language, perform tasks, and solve problems. LLM is the backbone of general AI, or AI that can generate content. LLMs are typically trained on text, art, language, mathematics, coding, etc.

Apple Silicon AI Siri 1 optimization feature
The Siri chatbot can create conversations and provide detailed help information similar to ChatGPT or Gemini. Apple is still aiming for a Siri that can "chat" with iPhone, iPad and Mac users and have human-like responses.
In addition, the integration of LLM will help Siri perform more complex tasks, surpassing the current version of Siri. Currently, Apple has to rely entirely on ChatGPT integrated in iOS 18.2 for queries that are beyond Siri's capabilities. For example, image analysis, image creation, giving advice...
Integrating LLM would allow Siri to perform more complex tasks that the current version of Siri is not capable of. Currently, Apple has to rely on the ChatGPT integration in iOS 18.2 for queries that are beyond Siri's capabilities. ChatGPT can analyze images, create images from scratch, answer complex questions, give advice, and more.
visionOS style camera app

iOS 19 could get a major overhaul of the Camera app, inspired by visionOS. A model based on the rumored redesign is said to feature a design that provides more screen space for photo previews. With menus displayed on a frosted glass background and icons displayed on top of it.
There will be separate menus for photo and video categories, and the options will change based on what’s selected. The menus appear to be similar to the translucent menus that visionOS uses.
There were rumors before iOS 18 launched that the update would feature a visionOS-style redesign, but these are likely changes in the works for iOS 19 instead. We could see other visionOS-style app redesigns as well, but the Camera app is the only rumored redesign so far.
The designs of Apple's most recent apps, Invites, Apple Sports, and Apple Playground, hint at the visionOS-like redesign we might see in iOS 19. The apps feature more translucent UI elements, larger buttons, and an emphasis on content.
Apple Intelligence Expands
Other iOS 19 features rolling out
Bloomberg's Mark Gurman says that a "larger-than-usual number of features" scheduled to be released in iOS 19 have been delayed until spring 2026. It's possible that the release of iOS 19 will include "major" new features, with Apple rolling them out over a longer period of time.
Earlier this year, Gurman suggested that Apple was moving away from yearly software releases, focusing instead on releasing new features as they become available. A more relaxed schedule would allow Apple to ensure its software is polished and ready to go without having to rush to meet annual deadlines.
Some iOS 19 features will be limited to newer devices, such as Apple Intelligence capabilities.
iOS 19 release date
Apple will preview iOS 19 at the Worldwide Developers Conference in June 2025. After WWDC, iOS 19 will be made available to developers for testing purposes, and then Apple will launch a public beta later this summer.
After a beta testing period, iOS 19 will launch in September 2025 alongside new iPhones, but not all of the planned iOS 19 features will be available at launch.
Instead, Apple will have a staggered rollout, just as it did with Apple Intelligence’s iOS 18 features.
Through your purchase history on the App Store, you will know when you downloaded that app or game, and how much you paid for the paid app.
