Although TFT Thief season 8 only has 5 generals and is considered a secondary race of this season 8, it is clear that the race nature of Thief is very attractive to gamers.
Maintain a losing streak or a winning streak to get the loot from heists, including money, component gear, consumable gear like duplicating champions, separating items from champions, removing items and replacing them with new ones... Even if the heist is longer, you can get 2-3 Tactical Crowns at a time.
The Thief generals are also quite strong and can be easily combined with other clans. There is no Thief general that costs 5 gold, so if you get Samira, you will quickly have a losing or winning streak and receive a lot of loot from the beginning. So to have a strong Thief team, you have to scroll down below.
Thief champions DTCL season 8

Kayle (Thief + Duelist)
- Ability: Kayle's next 3 basic attacks hit a target, dealing physical damage equal to 175% of their attack damage and magic damage to enemies within one cell of them.
Ezreal (Thief + Agent)
- Ability: Ezreal fires a destructive sphere at his target, reducing their Attack Speed by 30/40/50% for 4 seconds. He then fires a shot at them, dealing magic damage to them and nearby enemies.
Vi (Thief + Fighter + Defender)
- Ability: Vi slams the ground in front of her and releases her stored energy. She creates a health shield for 4 seconds, reducing the armor of nearby enemies by 40/50/69% for 4 seconds and dealing 200% physical damage.
Sona (Thief + Mage + Lover)
Sona cycles between 3 phases, firing 2 beams with the following functions:
- 1: Deal magic damage to the nearest enemy.
- 2: Heal the teammate with the lowest health.
- 3: Deals magic damage and stuns the nearest enemy for 1.5 seconds.
Samira (Thief + Gunslinger + Carry)
- Ability: Samira knocks up and juggles the target for 1.5 seconds, rapidly firing bullets that deal 425/450/665% attack damage. Bullets bounce back at nearby enemies, taking 50% less damage.
Vi is the only tank and she has to combine with other tanks to keep the team resilient. Luckily, Vi has two defensive traits, Fighter and Protector, so she can combine with other tanks flexibly.
The damage sources can come from Kayle, Ezreal and Sona. Samira will be the final source of damage as she is a 4-gold champion. Especially Ezreal and Kayle can both slowroll to 3 stars and become carries from the beginning of the game.

Thief Items DTCL Season 8
Samira and Kayle are two champions that deal physical damage, so these two champions will often use items like Green Bow, Infinity Edge, Hurricane Bow, Giant Slayer, Death Sword, Rageblade, Blood Sword...
As for magical items like Archangel's Staff, Deathcap, Jeweled Gauntlet, Blue Charm, and Spear of Shojin, Ezreal and Sona will be for them. Vi only needs defensive items.

Build Thief DTCL season 8, how to play Thief DTCL season 8
Early game
Start with 3 Thieves and a tank next to Vi. You can keep your losing streak going if your champion builds don't work out. Every 3 losses at this point is a steal.

Mid game
At level 6, add in other champions for more clan buffs. Any champion will do, depending on what your team is lacking. You can stop at level 6 and roll 3 Thieves to level 3 and equip them with items.

End Game
This is where your team takes shape, captures all 5 Thieves, and starts your winning streak. Even if you lose, you can still get the loot from your steals.

This final team may be a little loose, but you still have a solid source of damage and resistance. Thanks to the addition of Leona and Lee Sin alongside Vi, Leona is both a tank and an AoE damage dealer, and provides the Guardian buff. So she’s definitely a 5-cost unit to have in this final comp, or you can add any Guardian if you find it easy to build a Guardian.
Thief doesn't have to worry about lacking money and items, he only worries about not rolling enough generals to get you to 3 stars. You also actively accept the losing streak so you can use this as an advantage, remember not to let your health get too low, then the possibility of turning the tables will not be high.
