The pressure cooker helps housewives to cook more convenient, but the use and cleaning, if not done properly, can easily endanger the user and reduce the product's life. So, to know how to properly clean the pressure cooker and bring many benefits to the family, please follow the tips below!
Step 1: Remove the rubber ring on the pressure cooker lid and rinse separately
For pressure cookers with rubber rings on the inside of the lid, you need to remove this ring before proceeding with the pot cleaning operation. The rubber ring is removed and will be cleaned separately, do not clean the lid of the pot but leave the rubber ring on. By doing so, food residues and stains that stick to the ring during cooking will remain and your pot is not cleaned completely.
Step 2: Wash the parts of the pot with dishwashing liquid
After removing the rubber ring, you begin to clean the ring, lid, pressure cooker and other parts for the gas pressure cooker . As for the electronic pressure cooker , you will clean the lid, the pot and the outside of the pot.
Washing the pressure cooker components with dishwashing liquid and soft cleaning pad, not using a hard cleaner will easily scratch and damage the protection layer of the pot.
Step 3: Use a cloth to dry the parts
After cleaning the pressure cooker, use a cloth to dry the parts, so that no water, stains or dishwashing liquid remains on the parts. Especially the drying of the pressure valve unit, to avoid clogging the valve, will endanger you when cooking with the pot next time.
Step 4: Put the rubber ring in the correct position
Finally, you put the rubber ring back in place where you removed it. Remember to put it properly, do not let it fold, bend anywhere. Otherwise you won't be able to firmly cover the pressure cooker when cooking.
Other cleaning notes
Some pressure cookers are recommended by manufacturers to remove the pressure valve from the pot and clean it after each use. Therefore, you should review the manuals of your home pressure cooker before cleaning.
Do not submerge the pressure cooker lid in water, this may damage the pressure valves. Do not wash the pressure cookers in the dishwasher because food residues and dishwashing liquid can get into the valves, causing them to clog.
When not using the pot for a long time, you should not lock the lid of the pressure cooker because you may damage the rubber ring, or you will not be able to open the lid because the cooker is closed after a while. The space will get wet in the rubber ring, causing it to deform and make the lid of the pot stick to the pressure cooker.
