How to organize photos using Adobe Bridge
Organizing photos on your computer can be a chore, but Adobe Bridge makes it a lot easier. With simplified filters and seamless integration with other Adobe apps, it's one of the best options out there.
How to organize photos using Adobe Bridge
You can use many of Adobe Bridge's features to organize your files and choose which images to remove.
1. Create library
Creating libraries in Adobe Bridge helps you segment your images based on their exact location. You might use this to sometimes segment your photos by the month they were taken, or create libraries based on the posts you'll be using the photos for.
If you want to improve your travel photography, you should create a new library based on each trip. You can segment further by creating new libraries for different days.
Tip : You can choose from preset names or start from scratch when creating a library in Adobe Bridge.
2. Use the star rating system
Checking your photos before importing them into the app is one of the best ways to speed up your photo editing process. Adobe Bridge allows you to rate photos from 1-5 stars and the workflow here is pretty straightforward.
If you're sure you want to edit a photo, rate it 5 stars. On the other hand, rate it 3 stars if you're hesitant and want to review it later.
Star Rating in Adobe Bridge
Social media photos are rated with four stars to differentiate between photos used on social media and photos that appear elsewhere. Once you click on a photo in Adobe Bridge, the stars will appear automatically.
3. Reject photos that will not be used
Automatically reject any photos you know you won't use. In most cases, this will apply to blurry photos, poorly lit photos, and photos with compositions you don't like.
Sometimes you can keep different variations of the same photo; this often happens when using different apertures. However, if all the images are the same, keep one and discard the rest.
Tap the circle icon with a diagonal line to reject an image.
4. Use filters
You can access rejected images by selecting the Show Rejected Items Only filter . You can also only show them based on the star rating of the photo, which is useful when you're undecided about some photos. After reviewing them, you'll usually know whether you want to edit them or not.
Adobe Bridge has tools to sort photos by keywords, creation date, and other metrics. Sorting by keywords is useful if you want to sort photos by category (for example, food or architecture).
Organize photos based on filters in Adobe Bridge
Even if you don’t use other Adobe apps, you should still organize your photos using Bridge. It’s the perfect place to edit folders on your computer, hard drive, and camera SD card. Many people like not having to switch contexts while working, and the app has a variety of features that make selecting and deleting photos easier.
