How to check bluetooth version on iPhone and Android
Both iPhone and Android have Bluetooth to connect and transfer data between devices. Checking the Bluetooth version on iPhone and Android helps you know the current version and whether it meets the needs when using a feature that requires Bluetooth. Below are instructions for checking the Bluetooth version on your phone.
Quick Guide
Visit the specification sheet on the manufacturer's website to check the Bluetooth version.
On Android devices, you can download the AIDA64 app to test.
The iPhone 15 or Pixel 9 both feature Bluetooth 5.3.
1. Check the phone's specification sheet
The device manufacturer will provide complete information for the device, including the bluetooth version in use.
You visit the website of each phone company to check the specifications, for example with the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 phone line with specifications and Bluetooth version as shown below.
Use the bluetooth version checker website
If you can't find the bluetooth version of your phone from the specs sheet on the website then you can use the GSM Arena website .
You search for the device product name and the GSM Arena page name to access the specification content. In the specification list you will see the bluetooth version of the device line you are using as shown below.
Check Bluetooth version on Android via AIDA64
You install the AIDA64 application for Android phones using the link below.
In the application interface, click on System to display the technical specifications. Here you will see the Bluetooth version line as shown.
Latest Bluetooth version
Some of the latest smartphones today use Bluetooth 5.3, including the Google Pixel 9, iPhone 15, and Samsung Galaxy S24. Compared to Bluetooth 5.2, the latest version improves latency and connection efficiency through the Connection Subrating feature. Instead of maintaining a constant communication interval, which can consume a lot of battery and potentially cause unnecessary latency, Bluetooth 5.3 improves battery/power consumption, performance, and significantly reduces latency.
