On Windows 11, you can now use the Copilot app to find, open, and ask questions about files stored on your computer. You can ask any question about a file in the most natural language to quickly find files with Copilot. This search feature is available for Copilot version 1.25034.133.0 and later. Here's how to search for files with Copilot on Windows 11.
How to Search for Files Using Copilot on Windows 11
Step 1:
Open the Copilot application on your computer, then click on your avatar and select Settings in the displayed menu.

Step 2:
Switch to the setup interface for the Copilot application, find the Permission settings group and activate the File search item to use the file search feature on Copilot on your computer. Continue to enable File read to allow Copilot to read your files.

Step 3:
Now you enter the file search content using Copilot like Show me the Word document files we worked on yesterday and press send as usual.
Click on the found file to open it with the corresponding application and you're done.

Once you complete the steps, Copilot will be able to display results about the files stored on your computer.
