IPhone XS Max and 6s Plus officially become classic devices

In the latest update, Apple has officially added the iPhone XS Max (launched in 2018) and iPhone 6s Plus (launched in 2015) to the group of devices considered classic. This means that both of these product lines will no longer receive official software updates from Apple.

According to Apple's rules, a device is considered vintage if it has been discontinued for between 5 and 7 years. Meanwhile, products classified as obsolete will have been discontinued for more than 7 years.

Although Apple no longer sells these products, users can still get them repaired if replacement parts are available. However, the iPhone 6s Plus is a special case because it has been on the market for nearly 9 years.

The mark of iPhone XS Max and iPhone 6s Plus

When launched, both devices made a strong impression thanks to the largest screen size at that time. The iPhone 6s Plus has a 5.5-inch screen, while the iPhone XS Max is equipped with a 6.5-inch Super Retina OLED screen, providing a sharper and more vivid visual experience.

In addition, each line has its own outstanding features. The iPhone 6s Plus is the first Apple product line to integrate 3D Touch technology, allowing the screen to respond to the user's level of pressure. The device also improves the camera with optical image stabilization, helping to improve photo and video quality.

Meanwhile, the iPhone XS Max inherits Face ID technology from the iPhone X, but has been improved much better. In addition, this line of devices is also equipped with a powerful A12 Bionic processor chip, providing high performance and superior graphics processing capabilities.

Other devices in the classic list

Not only the iPhone XS Max and 6s Plus, Apple also added the Watch Series 2 to the group of obsolete devices. Introduced in 2016, this smartwatch attracted attention thanks to its water resistance and built-in GPS, meeting the needs of users in sports and outdoor activities.

The inclusion of these devices in the vintage and obsolete lists is a significant milestone, indicating that the life cycle of Apple technology products is gradually entering its final stage. However, for those who love and appreciate their historical value, these devices are still iconic.
