What to do if you can't leave a group chat?

It's not possible to leave if you're a member of an SMS/MMS group. However, you can still eliminate the noise by simply muting the message thread or deleting and blocking the conversation.

To mute a group SMS/MMS, swipe left on the group message thread and tap the Alerts button (the purple bell icon). After you do this, a crescent icon will appear next to the group conversation to indicate that the group is muted. When you're ready to unmute the group, swipe left and tap the Alerts button again.

However, if you want to block SMS/MMS group chats, follow these steps:

3. Scroll down and tap Delete and Block Conversation .
