Page numbering in Excel will be different from page numbering in Word , you will need to access the page management settings on Excel to number pages in Excel. With Excel, users also have many different numbering styles such as numbering pages in Excel from any number, numbering Excel pages in 1/2 style. Depending on your Excel page numbering requirements, we will follow the instructions below.

Step 1:
First, in the Excel interface, the user clicks on the Page Layout item , then clicks on the arrow icon below to expand the interface.

Step 2:
Display the interface as shown, in the First page number section we will enter 1 to number the Excel pages in order from number 1.
Next, click on the Header/Footer tab and select then select Custom Header or Custom Footer to number the pages.
Step 3:
Switch to the new interface, select the position where you want to number the pages , then click on the Insert Page Number icon and click OK to enter the Excel page number. Finally, click OK to proceed with numbering pages in Excel.
Excel page numbers also start from the page number you select in order.
Step 1:
In the Excel interface, click on the Page Layout tab and then click on the arrow in the right corner of this setting group.
Step 2:
The Page Setup dialog box appears, click on the Header/Footer tab . Here, users can choose to insert Excel page numbers at the top of the page by clicking on Custome Header. If you want to insert at the bottom of the page, click Customer Footer. Here I choose to insert at the bottom of the footer, so I click Customer Footer .
Step 3:
The Footer dialog box appears. You will have 3 positions to place the page number including Left section, Center section, Right section. To place the page number, place the mouse cursor there and then click on the Insert Page Number icon as shown below.
Step 4:
Immediately appear &[Page] at the position we selected before, press OK to complete.
Step 5:
Click OK to close the Page Setup interface. Now to check if the page numbers have been inserted into Excel, click the Office icon on the interface and select Print > Print Preview .
The user will see the page number appear in the document interface.
When numbering pages from any number, you can choose the order you want for the page numbers. It is not required to number pages from number 1 because you can skip the introduction page, for example.
You also access Page Setup and in the First page number section, you enter the page number you want to fill in.

Inserting Header in Excel or inserting Footer in Excel is also very familiar to us. And in addition to adding information to Header, Footer, you can also insert page numbers.
Step 1:
On the Excel page, click Insert , then look to the Text group and select Header/Footer .
Step 2:
Next, click Page Number to insert page numbers as shown below.
Step 3:
Immediately after that, you select the position where you want to place the page number and the page number will be displayed in the Excel page.
Inserting page numbers in 1/2 style in Excel applies to the case where pages have the same content in 1/2 and 2/2 style.
We will use the 1/2 style page numbering character in Excel to set it up.
You will click on the Insert Page Number icon and the / icon then click on the Insert Number of Pages icon .

This is also the way to number Excel pages via Page Layout but you access it from View mode. Then you will see the option to number pages at the top or bottom of the page.
Then we also choose the position to insert the page number we want to use.
To remove page numbers in Excel, you also open the Page Setup interface and then click on the Header/Footer tab. At the page number position you have typed, click on none to remove page numbers in Excel. Click OK to save the settings and delete page numbers in Excel.
