1. Bitmoji

You may be familiar with Bitmoji if you use Snapchat , as both apps are owned by the same company. Bitmoji lets you create a full-body cartoon avatar.

You can scan your face and Bitmoji will automatically generate physical features. Alternatively, try building your character from scratch. Once you're done, you can choose your outfit and see your avatar in all sorts of different situations.

Bitmoji integrates directly into Snapchat, of course, but conveniently, it also appears in Gboard's Stickers tab . This means you don't have to switch apps while texting. Just send a Bitmoji like any other sticker.

2. Samsung AR Emoji

Samsung AR Emoji is available on the Galaxy S9 and S10, Note 9 and 10, and even on the S8 (with limited capabilities).

To use it, launch the Camera app and switch to the front camera. Tap AR Emoji from the camera modes at the top. Then select the blue Create My Emoji button and take a selfie. Go through the steps of choosing a gender, customizing the outfit, etc. Tap OK when you're done.

While these apps offer a similar experience to Memoji, they are not exact replicas. If they don't satisfy you and you want official Memoji on Android, there is a workaround: WhatsApp.

You'll need to use someone else's iPhone to create your Memoji. Then, send the Memoji sticker to yourself on WhatsApp. On your Android phone, tap each Memoji sticker and select Add to favorites .

To use a Memoji in WhatsApp, tap the emoji icon to the left of the message field. Then, under Favorites , tap the Memoji sticker you want to send.
