Apple Magic Mouse will have a new design after 15 years

The Magic Mouse is one of the oldest accessories Apple has in its product catalog. It has been on sale since 2009, making it even older than the first-generation iPad. But what’s puzzling is that while the Magic Mouse has received a few tweaks and upgrades over the years, the overall design of the product has remained largely the same after 15 years.

According to a new report from Bloomberg’s Apple writer Mark Gurman, Apple has finally decided to release a completely redesigned version of the Magic Mouse. The product is already in development and is in the final stages. Apple’s design team has reportedly begun testing several prototypes, with the goal of designing a product that meets modern needs.

We still don’t have any clues about the potential design of the all-new Magic Mouse, but Gurman says Apple is looking to create something that “better fits” into the modern computing world, which relies on touchscreens and voice commands.

In terms of design, the Magic Mouse is currently known as one of the least ergonomic products on the market. The flat design of the Magic Mouse makes it uncomfortable for users to use for long periods of time. In addition, this design causes the charging port to be located on the bottom, forcing users to flip the mouse over to plug in the battery. Of course, this means you cannot use the mouse while charging.

Despite the complaints, Apple hasn't made any major changes to the Magic Mouse, and it's retained its original shape and design since 2009. In fact, Apple has made some changes to the mouse, including switching from AA batteries to rechargeable batteries and introducing new color options with the launch of the 24-inch iMac in 2021. However, it's clear that users want a complete overhaul rather than minor tweaks. Hopefully, the new Magic Mouse will be more comfortable and usable.
