The iOS 18.0.1 update has been released by Apple to address some of the remaining issues on the latest iPhone 16 Pro models. However, many older iPhone users are wondering which iPhone models should update to iOS 18.0.1 and whether the battery life and performance of older devices will be increased.

Youtube channel iAppleBytes compared the speed and battery life of old iPhone models running iOS 18.0.1 to see if this latest update really optimizes battery life.
iAppleBytes used the Geekbench 6 app and the iPhone models in the test included the iPhone SE 2020, iPhone XR, iPhone 11, iPhone 12, iPhone 13, and iPhone 15.
The iPhone SE 2020 running on iOS 18.0.1 scored 1926 points via Geekbench 6, down sharply from 2239 points on iOS 18.0. The iPhone XR's score was 2894 points, down from 3231 points on iOS 18.0.1.
The iPhone 11 scored 3261 points on iOS 18.0.1, a slight increase from 3003 points on iOS 18.0. The iPhone 12 showed no changes after upgrading to iOS 18.0.1. The iPhone 13 also showed a decline in battery life, scoring 3260 points on iOS 18.0.1 compared to 3910 points on iOS 18.0.
iPhone 15 scored 6380 on iOS 18.0.1, up slightly from 6090 on iOS 18.0.
