Gemini , Google's latest AI assistant for Android, offers live chat functionality with chatbots powered by powerful generative AI models. Google also allows users to set Gemini as the default virtual assistant on their smartphones.

However, Google only allows the application to be installed on devices running Android 12 or higher, so many Android smartphones still cannot experience the full features of Gemini. With older phones, users can only use this virtual assistant via the website.
According to Android Authority, Google has recently quietly reduced the minimum requirements, allowing phones running Android 10 or higher to install Gemini.
This change was spotted in the latest Gemini version uploaded to APKMirror. Currently, Gemini's official support website still shows the minimum requirement of Android 12, but the app has changed it to Android 10 or higher.
Along with that, Google also added to the Gemini version running on Android phones the Conversation feature that allows users to chat more naturally, without having to manually activate voice recognition each time they give a command.
According to Neowin, Conversation is part of Google's effort to make Gemini the default virtual assistant on Android phones.
Recently, Google has been testing some new features on its AI tool including real-time feedback, calling up music apps of your choice, and reading responses as soon as the tool starts giving answers.
