Google just announced on its blog The Keyword that Gemini has received an update with enhanced memory. Previously, when users wanted to ask the chatbot about a topic that had already been discussed, they had to search through chats or repeat it in a command.

Now, there's no need to do that anymore, with this new feature, you can just open Gemini and ask to recall what was discussed earlier. Gemini will go through the chat history and find everything related to that topic. And you can continue the discussion and build on what was in the discussion, and retrieve it later.

However, not everyone has access to Gemini's new storage feature. To use it, you'll need to subscribe to the Gemini Advanced plan within the Google One AI Premium Plan . Subscribers can use Gemini's storage feature on both the web and mobile apps.

With the fierce competition among chatbots today, Google’s move is in line with the trend of its competitors. We are at a stage where all the big tech companies can create chatbots with good results, and now the focus is on adding advanced features to stand out.
The AI memory feature isn't new, ChatGPT already has this functionality, allowing users to identify important information about themselves. However, Google's solution seems to be focused on making it easier for users to retrieve previous conversations. We'll have to wait and see how this feature performs compared to its competitors after some use.
