iOS 18 offers a new accessibility feature called Voice Shortcuts that lets you specify a custom phrase that Siri can understand to launch those shortcuts. And you can rename Siri in iOS 18 to anything you want, other than Siri or Hey Siri, whenever you want to open the assistant on your iPhone. Here's how to rename Siri in iOS 18.
How to change Siri name on iOS 18
Step 1:
You access Settings on iPhone then click on Accessibility feature . Switch to the new interface, click on Voice Shortcuts .
Step 2:
Switch to the new interface, click on Set up voice shortcuts . The introductory interface for the voice shortcut feature appears, click Continue to proceed.
Step 3:
Now you will see the task options for us to choose to use. You scroll down and click on the Siri task to proceed to create a voice shortcut for Siri. Then you need to enter the name for Siri you want to change and only attach it to Siri, click Go below to enter.
Step 4:
To verify a different name for Siri when you need to activate it, we have to say the new name 3 times for the iPhone to confirm. When there is a green check mark, it means the iPhone has successfully confirmed that voice.
This will let your iPhone hear you say the new name you assigned to Siri and launch Siri.
Step 5:
Now you activate Siri with the new name on your iPhone as usual.
How to remove new name for Siri on iOS 18
Step 1:
You tap on the Voice Shortcuts setting on the iPhone again and then you will see the voice shortcut for Siri. If you want to temporarily disable the voice shortcut feature , deactivate Voice Shortcuts on the iPhone.
Step 2:
To delete the new name for Siri , click on the Edit button and then click on the red circle icon . Next, click on Delete to delete this voice shortcut.
