How to check the real IMEI, the simplest

What is IMEI? Checking the IMEI and distinguishing the real and fake IMEI is one of the quite effective ways for you to identify whether a product is genuine or a floating product, of unknown origin, even an illegal one. However, how to realize, what is a real IMEI, a fake IMEI is something that certainly not everyone knows.

The IMEI code is a "passport", which identifies a product or a mobile device. There are never two identical IMEIs for the same phone, so checking a real - fake IMEI is one of the most important and effective ways to identify that device.

Identify real or fake IMEI?

As we know, the structure of an IMEI consists of 4 parts ( IMEI = TAC + FAC + SNR + CD ). Inside:

  • TAC, FAC, SNR : The components are identified, calculated and used to identify the origin and information about that device.
  • CD : The last number of the 15 IMEI numbers - also the only way to rely on it and determine whether the existing IMEI range is real or fake, based on a fairly simple formula.

The formula is determined as follows:

  • Step 1 : You double the value of all the numbers in the IMEI range in odd positions (1st, 3rd, 5th ...) in order from right to left.
  • Step 2 : Add all these duplicated values with the numbers in the remaining even position of the IMEI.
  • Step 3 : Take the total value divided by 10 (that is, the total value must be a number divided by 10), the result is the CD number.

ATTENTION:

  • If the result is divisible by 10, the CD number will be "0".
  • If the sum is not divisible by 10 , the CD number will be the difference between the divisor of 10 greater and closest to the result obtained.

For example:

After step 3, the total value found is:

  • 10, 20, 40, 70, ..: the CD number will be: 0.
  • 34, 56, 77, 87, ...: the number of CDs will be: 40 - 34 = 6, 60 - 56 = 4, 80 - 77 = 3, 90 - 87 = 3, ...

Specifically:

We have an IMEI range as follows: 49015420323751 X (490154-20-323751-X) -> Find X ?

IMEI 4 9 0 first 5 4 2 0 3 2 3 7 5 first X
Duplicate the value   18   2   8   0   4   14   2
Add up the sum 4 1 + 8 0 2 5 8 2 0 3 4 3 1 + 4 5 2

After step 3, our sum is:

4 + 1 + 8 + 0 + 2 + 5 + 8 + 2 + 0 + 3 + 4 + 3 + 1 + 4 + 5 + 2 = 42 -> not divisible by 10.

The divisor for 10, bigger and closest to 42, is 50 -> CD number = 50 - 42 = 8 .

So X = 8 and our complete IMEI code is 49015420323751 8 .

With this calculation formula, you can easily check whether the last number (CD number) of an IMEI code matches or not, is it standard with the remaining 14 numbers in the sequence?

  • If yes, that is the standard IMEI .
  • Otherwise, the IMEI code has been tampered with .

There are many devices, whether genuine, genuine, but faulty, used, or for some reason, their IMEI code has been changed to hide their true information. And here is how to help you find the "error" in that IMEI code.

I wish you successful implementation!
