How to create QR codes using Google Sheets extremely simple
Creating a QR code using Google Sheets is very simple, when you just need to combine some functions in Google Sheets. So to create a QR code online , we have many different ways to do it. You can use online websites to create QR codes, or create QR codes on Google Docs or create QR codes using Google Sheets. We just need to paste the link into Google Sheets and then use the function. The following article will guide you to create QR codes using Google Sheets.
Instructions for creating Google Sheets QR codes using functions
Step 1:
First, paste the website link you want to create a QR code from in Google Sheets.
Step 2:
In the cell where you want to display the QR code for the entered link, we will enter the function formula =IMAGE("https://chart.googleapis.com/chart?chs=500x500&cht=qr&chl="&ENCODEURL(D48)) and press Enter.
In which D48 is the cell of the website link, 500x500 is the size of the QR code. This size can be changed as desired and is in square size.
Step 3:
As a result, we will see the QR code in Google Sheets as shown below. You adjust the size of the cell to adjust the display size for the QR code.
Now we will scan this QR code with the camera on the phone. When receiving the QR code, it will display the option to access the website attached in the QR code.
How to create QR codes in Google Sheets via add-on
Step 1:
At the interface on Google Sheets, we click on Add-ons , then click on Download add-ons .
Step 2:
Display the utility search interface, we enter the keyword QR Code Generator and then you will see the results below. We click on the QR Code Generator utility as shown below.
Step 3:
Next, the user clicks on Install to install this extension on Google Sheets.
You need to agree to some access permissions of this extension, click Allow to complete the installation of QR Code Generator extension.
Step 4:
Return to the QR Code Generator interface, click on Extensions , then click on the QR Code Generator extension , then click Open to open this extension.
Step 5:
Click on the website link you want to create a QR code for, then look at the right side to adjust the QR code creation mode on Google Sheets from the utility.
First, we choose to download the QR code as an image or as a document . If we click Save as Document, the QR code will be created in Google Docs. If we click Save as PNG, the QR code image will be saved to Google Drive.
Finally click Generate to create the QR code.
Step 6:
As a result you will see the option to open a Google Docs document to view the QR code or open a folder on your computer to view the QR code image.
Now you just need to send this QR code image to others for them to scan and access.
