How to remove objects in photos on Samsung phones

Photo editing on phones has come a long way, you don't need to be a Photoshop expert to edit photos anymore. If an object or a stranger accidentally gets stuck in a photo, you can completely erase these objects without leaving any traces. The Object Eraser feature will become an effective solution for those who use Samsung Galaxy S21 and want to edit photos. Thanks to the AI-based image editing feature on Samsung phones, you can now remove subjects from images with just a few taps.

How to enable Object Eraser

1. Open the Photos (Gallery) app .

2. Select the photo with the object you want to remove.

3. Click on the pencil icon to open the photo editing tool.

4. Select the three-dot icon in the upper-right corner of the Photos app, select Labs .

5. Slide the button next to Object Eraser to enable this feature.

Since Object Eraser is still an experimental feature, you'll need to enable it before the option appears in the Gallery app. If the option isn't available in settings, check to see if you've updated your phone and apps to the latest software versions.

How to use Object Eraser

1. With Object Eraser activated, go back to the photo that contains the object you want to erase.

2. Hover over to the far right of the toolbar at the bottom of the screen and click the new Object Eraser icon .

3. Tap the object you want to delete. The object will be highlighted in purple; you can tap to highlight multiple objects at once.

4. Click Erase to remove each marked object from the image.

5. If you are not satisfied with the result, you can use the undo button to try again.

6. Once you are satisfied with the image, tap the check mark in the bottom right corner of the screen to replace the original image and save the result.

Much like the Content-Aware Fill feature in Photoshop, Object Eraser analyzes your image and intelligently erases the object you select, replacing it with the best one you have based on its surroundings. It's not perfect, and if you zoom in on the image, you'll be able to see some blurriness, but it's not noticeable, you have to zoom in and look closely to see it.
